    If (who is now self-isolating) tests positive for , he’ll presumably use govt’s new Test & Trace programme. That could mean a lot of politicians and civil servants getting a text and being forced into 14 days quarantine...

    I can see why the UK might want 'air bridges' with foreign countries. I'm less clear why other countries would risk a coronavirus spike to boost their tourism industry

    Britain overtakes Belgium- & every other developed country- to record the highest rate of deaths per million population in the world. It had weeks of warning from Italy that was a killer & heading to the UK. The Gov't has a lot to answer for. 60,000+ lives.

    colleague is following quarantine story - which has taken an interesting turn yday with statement from Spanish tourism minister - “British data still has to improve... as soon as epidemiological situation in UK improves, Spain will be ready with same hospitality”

    It would be good if the remaining weekday ones could now be face to face with socially distanced journalists, with free questioning allowed - to help avoid the impression that there are different levels of caution for them than the rest of us.
