    A giant pyramid temple was part of a 187 hectacre site of Ahichhatra (Bareilly) excavated in 1940. Ahichhatra finds mention in the Mahabharata as the capital of the Panchala empire. The massive pyramid temple even in its run down state measures 22m and has a huge Shv Ling on top.
