About the Anti-Empire Project

Welcome to Justin Podur’s site, now called the Anti-Empire Project, at podur.org. You will find many different media (dreams, fictions, articles, videos, podcasts), about many different parts of the world (Palestine, Venezuela, Colombia, DR Congo, Haiti, Canada, Kashmir, India, Pakistan…) and many different topics (War, Occupations, Coups, sure, but also Ecology, Education, Writing… ), with the main cross-cutting themes being (and I admit that I’m risking sounding grandiose or ridiculous):

  • The celebration of people and the planet;
  • Opposition to the Empire and the way it destroys the potential for the future;
  • The idea that understanding and learning can help us challenge the Empire and make a better world.

This is the basis of what I call “leftism”, and I offer it in the hopes of building a little community on it.
