Join WFMU & The Museum of Interesting Things and let’s leave it to Beaver and step back in time and see these vintage 16mm films on proper behavior live…well virtually live, and view some other films from those eras too! The Internet with Facebook, chats, texting, dating sites, Twitter and Instagram help people get together, but sometimes makes them just a tad unruly. Dave the Spazz has been our Thursday night mainstay for many years now. Unfortunately, Dave has been having a rough time since he contracted COVID-19 back in March. Dave was interviewed about what he’s been going through by The Park Slope Reader in Brooklyn. Read it here. We’re rooting for Dave to feel 100% again and hope he returns to the airwaves very soon!

Drummer Stream Discotheque! — Every Friday, 3-7pm

Every Friday afternoon on the stream from now until the lockdown ends, we’re throwing a weekly series of parties to dance away the crazy. Hosted by a different Drummer Stream DJ, this week’s installment takes places May 29. WFMU has started a virtual movie house! We are adding films to rent with 50% of the proceeds go to benefit the station, which always needs a little help. Just added! Tributes A-Plenty at WFMU

A lot of great musicians have been dying lately, but WFMU is here to remind you of why they were important in the first place. Hear three full-program salutes to Kraftwerk‘s Florian Schneider by Jesse Dorris on Polyglot, Rich in Washington on Cratedigger’s Lung, and Gary Sullivan on Bodega Pop Live, as well as an extensive tribute on Strength Through Failure with Fabio; check out Todd-O-Phonic Todd‘s tribute to Little Richard, as well as Matt Fiveash‘s on Weekly World Blues and Kris Holmes‘ on The Long Way Home (where he also paid tribute to Betty Wright); hear Joe Belock‘s tribute to pop songwriter Mark Barkan on Three Chord Monte; listen to Marty McSorley, Jesse Dorris, and Duane Train pay their respects to disco funk king Bohannon; and don’t miss Evan “Funk” Davies‘ salute to Dave Greenfield of The Stranglers.
