    Punjab's recovery rate now stands at over 90% with only 143 active cases, which is positive news for us. Five districts, namely Sangrur, SAS Nagar, Ferozepur, Bathinda & Moga have 0 active cases as of today. While it is encouraging, let us all focus on taking proper precautions.

    In the fight against , Punjab’s recovery rate now stands at 89% with only 211 active cases. Wish them all a speedy recovery. Our doubling rate of cases has improved to 100 days. But Please follow full precautions to ensure that our hard work isn’t frittered away.

    Happy to inform that State Transport buses have commenced operations from today. Sharing a picture of our first bus from Ludhiana to Amritsar carrying 30 passengers. Imp that we all wear masks & observe proper health safeguards & we need to adopt & inculcate these as habits.

    Happy to share a picture of our 200th Shramik Special Train that left Amritsar at 2 PM today for Miraj in Maharashtra. Till date, over 2.50 lakh workers have been transported out of Punjab and we are in the process of increasing the number of trains as well.

    Due to our collective efforts, we have done well in controlling but for spikes when people come from outside Punjab. We are screening & quarantining persons and will be strict in enforcing wearing masks & social distancing. This fight is not over, it has just started!

    Challenging times call for innovative solutions. I request PM Ji to allow MGNREGS cardholders to work in farms in 2020-21 Kharif/ Rabi season to overcome the shortage of labour. A specific number of man-days/acre may be designated to help both workers & farmers.

    Starting Wednesday we will start running State buses along with pvt buses/mini-buses with reduced capacity to ensure social distancing. These will move point to point to ensure health screening & sanitisation of buses & bus stands in urban areas & will start in rural areas later.

    Even though Govt. hospitals have been busy fighting , since 23 Mar, 20 lakh patients have been treated in OPDs for Non-Covid diseases. In this period under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana, 43000 patients have availed treatment worth Rs 38 Cr. Kudos to our Health Department!(2/2)

    Happy to interact with my fellow Punjabis from Kapurthala who have recovered from & discharged from hospital. Happy to share that our recovery rate has improved to 64.6% & our doubling rate is at 49 days. We’ve slowed spread of , but we still need to work hard.
