It's like they asked how can we make a catchy slogan like "Black Lives Matter" or "Make America Great Again" and someone came up with this.

I'd love to confirm what did or didn't happen. I'm personally a fan of your work regardless.

Overall, in the worst case scenario even if that's true it does little to nothing against the overall message in the Harper's Letter. It only shows the human fallibility of holding absolutist free speech principles. That's why I think the principle should be put above that.

It's possible that there was a pool of names that they asked if they should contact and people voted on the best of those instead of just sending out the invitation to all of them. This would seem reasonable imo and more likely than intentionally stopping Greenwald from signing.

I'm sure someone will cut down the specific soundbyte by tomorrow and we will have a more clear picture. I personally don't know the process of selecting signatories for the letter, so I'm not gonna jump to conclusions.

I'm curious how true this is. Reading the thread it sounds like Repanich is making these conclusions based on something said on the Useful Idiots Podcast. There's also something about TCW wanting Greenwald to sign, but was outvoted.

There are other kinds as well, but these are just two I notice on a regular basis. If we are ever gonna have a dialogue on these topics you're gonna have to quit being dogmatists to your woke ideology and have an actual conversation with someone.

Wokes however have a bad habit of practicing racial essentialism and ignoring many types of bigotry. The two most common seem to be antisemetism and anti Ex-Muslim bigotry. Both of which are almost seen as just acceptable in woke circles.

If we look at polling most Americans support civil rights for black people and other racial minorities. People that state they believe you can have friends with different opinions don't mean you should have explicitly racist friends. They mean varying views.

I saw this on Instagram and realized it's very much a strawman against the freedom of speech argument. For one, I actually do agree with this, but I know for a fact individuals like this DO judge people as inherently different based on their identities.

Still, she shouldn't have been fired. We can criticize his statements and encourage him away from racism without setting a precedent to fire people for their speech outside of work.

Nick Cannon's real problem is he views communities exclusively through a racial lens. You have blacks, whites, Jews, Asians, etc. If he wants to break this he needs to reject racecraft all together.

In Portland, federal agents in combat gear pulled protesters off the street and jailed them without charge. That is what a police state is all about. Now is the time to defend our Constitution. Now is the time to come together and defeat Trump's authoritarian policies.

Woke understanding of racism is actually counterproductive and increases various forms of bigotry and discrimination while often attacking some of the most vulnerable minorities because they don't fit into their ideology.
