    We are all in this together. Covid-19 has made that crystal clear. We have shown we can work together for our common good. We are cooperating, in NZ and internationally, to flatten the curve. We can be proud here in Aotearoa of how well we've contained the virus.

    I only just saw this now. We are now ranked lowest of these countries in terms of restrictions. Seems like our Govt did *exactly* the right thing. Unbelievably good decision making.

    After finding a lack of gender analysis in the Friday Files I asked the Ministry for Women for its Covid-19 briefings. It’s warning that while women are more likely to lose jobs in the crisis, our Govt response favours workforces dominated by men

    I also said the Minister of Finance is very aware of the gendered nature of the economic impact, and I’m confident my ministerial colleagues in Govt are also focussed on and committed to an equitable recovery.

    The Minister for Women Julie Ann Genter sent finance minister a letter raising the issue, saying the current response risks further exacerbating gender inequalities - particularly for wahine Māori, Pasifika, disabled or rural women - and offering help to make policies more equal
