    Oh, no. Horrible news.

    I hate updating this list. Just learned of another very special, near to my heart winery that's been destroyed in the Glass Fire: Cain, on Spring Mountain.

    New TTB ruling allows American wineries to list "typical" calorie values on wine labels. The option does not require wineries to conduct lab analysis on each bottling.

    It's been raining hard for two hours, the first significant rain we've had in eight weeks. There are creatures in our yard (rodents, birds) who have never seen rain in their entire lifetimes.

    This vineyard blows my mind every time.

    Last trip to the vineyard, before I leave; and the first since lockdown started in March. It really is my happy place. I can wander around there for hours, each time seeing something new. Looks like flowering is not far off, which means we are in for an early 2021 harvest.

    Another fire that apparently ran straight through irrigated vineyards in NorCal--it's increasingly clear that under sufficiently dry/windy conditions, these will not always act as inherent firebreaks as had usually occurred historically.

    No doubt about it. 's impact on the wine and hospitality industry in Napa County is going to be unprecedented. We're seeing vineyards, wineries, hotels, resorts, vacation rentals, etc damaged, threatened, or lost. Homes take precedence over businesses.

    Many of you may have been excited to share photos of the wine you purchased in the with me, thinking it was a collaboration, sadly it's not! a winemaker in Argentina decided to take my hard work, re-draw it, and print it on thousands of bottles
