Wärfear/ Protest-split 7'' out soon

Wärfear and Protest launched songs from their upcoming split 7" in bandcamp. Wärfear from Malacca, Malaysia need no introduction, this is going to be their second vinyl after the great split 7" with Braincëll and don't forget their amazing demo tape. They uploaded two tracks of metallic crust in the vein of Wolfpack, melodic yet epic and with a strong Tragedy/From Ashes Rise flavor in this recording. The songs last  6:20 minutes and probably these are the complete Wärfear side. The band remains in the high level of quality of their previous releases and delivers the goods.
Protest are punk vets for Singapore, they released The Biggest Proof Of Human Greed Is War (tape 1998) and a split cdr with Desecrate (2000) and remained tormant for almost two decades. They came back to life in January 2018 releasing Moral Injustice ep limited to 100 cd's and touring with Emerged in Malaysia and Singapore, at the same time a cassette version of Moral Injustice' inluding 'Biggest Proof of Human Greed is War' as box set, was released from Broken Noise. The band uploaded one track of D-beat crust punk from the upcomimg split 7"
Co-released by Azadghei Records, Broken Noise Records and Overflöd Records.

Wärfear/Braincëll-Brainfeär split 7"

Here we got an amazing record: Brainfeär is a split 7" with Wärfear and Braincëll, both bands come from Malaysia and the record was co-released by Hardcore Hell and Deleted Records.
Wärfear hail from Malacca and members carry a history in bands such as Antiprotokol, Melarat, Kerenaneko, Osmantikos and Grin(d)amage, this is their first vinyl release after the amazing demo tape from 2016 and the recent split live tape with Parötid. Here they contribute two songs of metallic crust blending the melody and the crust heaviness of Wolfpack with the '90's Anti Cimex guitar work: Heavy, metallic guitar sound with melodic yet epic lines, rough shouted vocals that makes you stand up and sing the lyrics and excellent sound quality. Everything is perfect here and i wish only there were more songs, the band is so good and the five minutes of their side are not enough for my ears.
On the other side we got Braincëll who released the great Mindlock tape in 2016 and that was released as 7" with one extra song by Tampere Hardcore in 2018. Here they deliver three songs of noisy 90's UK crust blending Doom and Extinction of Mankind in an amazing way, bringing distorted guitar and bass and deep low throatty vocals reminding of Extreme Noise Terror.
All and all this is a great record and both bands deliver the goods in a brilliant release. Next work for Wärfear is a split 7" with Singapore's punk vets Protest and a split with their country mates Emerged and for Braincëll next comes a split 7" with Zikade from Japan. Can't wait for these! Brainfeär is available from Hardcore Hell and Deleted Records and the bands and also for streaming in bandcamp. Artwork by.Yeap the Human Warhead.

DISM/Speedwitch-2 way split (tape)

This is the last post for 2018 and here we got one split tape and a surpise for your ears: 2 way split is a split cassette with DISM from Malaysia and Speedwitch from Oregon, United States. DISM is not unknown to the frequenters of this blog since all their previous releases are posted here but this time they bring a surpsise and prove that they got the balls to do it: Instead of bringing their usual D-beat cust, coming straight from they '80's and inspired by Discharge, Anti-Cimex and Broken Bones, this time they deliver the glam metal, heavy metal, the metal attempt, this thing call it whatever you want, of Discharge's Grave New World. Yes this s happening here. High pitched/falsetto vocals similar to Cal's from 1986 days, more metallic riffs  and all this spirit that was born with Grave New World and bands such as Thisclose and Decade (in their last release) try to immitate, there is even a song titled Grave New World Order in their tracklist. Somehow the band balances its roots with this new pathway, the sound hasn't gone heavy metal though and as they said they did it only for this release.
On the other side we find Speedwitch, they describe they music as Ripper Crust and  they deliver Metal Punk, a combination of Bathory and Venom throwing in their cauldron old school black metal and speed metal in a catchy blending with a healthy little dose of Rock n Roll. They contriibute four tracks too and this was their swan song since now they continue with different name, Their tracks appear also in Distorter LP
2 Way Split is released by Dismania Porductions, DISM's own label and comes with stickers and pin badges.

Dism/D-Crash - System of Bullshit (split cd)

System of Bullshit is a split cd with Dism from Malaysia and D-Crash from China, released by Real Deal, a Beijing based punk/hardcore label.
Dism is not unknown to this blog, they hail from Kuala Lumpur and recently they unleashed a double attack with System of Bullshit split cd and a split tape with metal punks Speedwitch from PDX and don't forget their amazing Warmageddon cassette from 2017 and the split with Civil Evacuation. Here, they contribute five tracks delivring D-Beat inspired by Discharge, Anti Cimex and Doom legacy with a crusty flavor.  Excellent playing and sound quality, there is nothing to compain here. This is D-beat Crust at its finest from one of the best bands coming from this country.
D-Crash come from Beijing, they are active since 2012,they released We Abhor The War cdr in 2015and  Doom of Authority cassette in 2017, both releases on Diying Art Productions, and they are one of the few bands from China that i know, they bring five songs too and deliver Hardcore Crust with slight metal hints and inspired by the Japanese scene. great stuff by them too.
The cd lasts nearly 26 minutes, it is avalable from Real Deal and elsewhere (Revenge Rec.s Punk and Destroy etc etc), also available from steaming in bandcamp Real Deal has several other releases under the belt, available in bandcamp too

Gassed come from Malaysia and here's their five track cassette, no any info and not any site for the band, the cassette came in 100 copies and had made sleeve, it is co-released by the band and a local label named Secret Records, the band delivers D-Beat raw punk with a slight old school flavor, inspired by Discharge and Anti Cimex (the chorus riff of Punk Police is copied from Anti Cimex's Warmachine). Excellent demo full of energy and power.

Dism-Warmageddon (tape 2017)

Malaysia is a country that has offered some great bands during the last years, Wärfear, Braincell, Krigssystemet etc (btw Wärfear, Braincell are on works for a split ep), Dism is aonther new band, formed in Kuala Lumpur with members carrying a history in acts such as Psychö Sickness, The Dirty Dogs, Discrusher, Dissosial, Military Toyz and The Bongox, they mention bands such as Discharge, Broken Bones, Disgust, Raw Noise, Extreme Noise Terror, Doom and Disclose as their influence and more or less thats what  they deliver: Warmageddon is band's first release, come as cassette, it consists of twelve songs (incl. an intro and an outro) and delivers crusty flavored old school D-beat in the vein of Discharge, Anti Cimex and the likes while the last track 'A nightmare for today' has this Broken Bones feeling. The sound quality is decent and honestly this is a great cassette and delivers the goods. Tony 'Bones' Roberts (Broken Bones/Discharge) and Tom Bollock (The Bollocks, Carouretor Dung) appear as special guests during the recording. The band contributed two songs in Avantcharge Mass Crust Mental tape comp.  Warmageddon  is lenghty enough (it lasts 29 minutes and comes with sticker and poster)and thats another good shit about it, it is available from the band (there is a second pressing coming out in July since 1st is sold out very very fast) and in bandcamp and youtube. Dism will visit UK next year, check their fb page for more future news, patches, tees etc.

Wärfear-st demo tape

Wärfear hail from Malaysia and they are are another great band i recently discovered after Braincell and Krigssystemet, There is no any site around, nor farcebook page, the only thing i know is that members are/were in Antiprotokol, Melarat, Kerenaneko, Osmantikos and Grin(d)amage. (thanx Altar Aksara!), anyway the band first unleashed three songs from their demo in bandcamp and recently they uploaded the fourth song (guys please upload the fifth track, please!) The five songs were recorded in April 2016, the demo will come out as cassette but no infos about how many copies, what label(s) there is (are) behind etc, And we reach to the crucial point: the music.Braincell and their Doom worship was a nice surprise to me some months ago, now Wärfear and their Wolfpack worship deliver some great crust tunes and deliver the goods too. Blasting riffs with metallic feeling, rough shouting vocals, pummeling bass and the usual D-beat. The sound is decent, the whole shit reminiscent of Wolfpack, Wolfbrigade and Tragedy: Powerful crust with melodic lines that make it interesting with out becoming cheesy and shitty. As conclusion: This is a hell of crust and a great debute demo tape. The cassette consists of five songs and just came out, in case you want a copy, there is a contact address in bandcamp, in the meantime you can listen the demo in bandcamp, enjoy it.

Braincell-Mindlock tape

Braincell hail from Malaysia, they are a new band, Mindlock is their first release but members carry a a history since they are related with bands such as Apparatus, Atomicdeath, Melarat, Antiprotokol and Ferocious Inferno. When i first met these guys in bandcamp and apart from the great cover, i had no any doubt about them when i saw the bands  they list as their inspiration: Discharge, Disaster, Doom, Axegrinder, Antisect, Amebix, Hellkrusher, Hiatus, 3 Way Cum, Discard, Disfear (old), Disgust, E.N.T., Bastard (Japan), Anti-Cimex, Shitlickers, Warcollapse, State Of Fear, and mighty MOTÖRHEAD! Mindlock was self-released and came out in pro 200 copies with great artwork. Band members seem to adore Doom and they don't feel ashamed to let this love appear in their music: This is a pure Doom worship, a page taken from Doom's book, the six tracks of cassette sound like a Doom recording and deliver the goods, Everything is perfect here, the sound quality is decent and the band delivers a bass heavy sound, some Antisect and Hellkrusher elements pop up here  and there but Doom is always the main inspiration. The singer shouts in English and the cassette lasts for nearly eleven minutes, All and all this is a great piece of D-beat and along with Lifelock and Krigssystemet they stand among the best bands i discovered recently and they come from South East Asia. The cassette is still available and also in bandcamp and youtube,

Krigssystemet-Who's next to be the fucking government? demo 2014

Here's some really great piece of D-beat noise shit: Krigssystemet hail from Malaysia and Who's next... is their six track demo tape released in 2014, there is no any band site  and not a trace of them on the web so i can't tell if they are still active. Who's next... consists of over of nine minutes of Swedish D-beat punk, with raw and distorted guitar, heavy pammellig bass and the usual D-beat. This contains all shit needed in this genre: Ear destroying noise, the appropriate levels of distortion, aggression, wrath and power, Great tape, can't find a bad thing here. Artwork was made by Fahmi Reza, This was released by Hellforced Records, Blood of War Records and Bebal Mailorder and copies are still available. Score a copy or have a listening in bandcamp

Hellexist-Life System Death System cdr 2008

This is a little bit old but what the hell, this is good: Sonic hell exists and has a name: Hellexist hail from Johor Bahru, Malaysia, they formed in 2007 and Life System Death System is their demo from 2008. So far they have several split releases under their belt: Split cd with Hellbömbs (2007, Broken Noise Recs), four way split cd with Discrusher, Black Wing of Vengeance and Dead Lock (2008, Kasyorga Records) and split 7" with Blinded Humanity (2012, Azagdhei Records). Life System Death System came out on tape and cdr format, the tape format  came in 100 pieces in silk screen fabric case, released by Roots Zine for issue #7 and is still available ,the cdr came in 100 copies with silk screen pocket folder and is sold out. Music wise this is heavy and brutal D-beat crust with some grindcore influences especially in the insane vocals. All song move almost in the same speed, there is the usual fast D-beat drumming, heavy guitar riffage that goes beyond the typical three chord riff and brutal growling vocals. There is no any tracklist printed on back cover but inside you will find a sheet with the songs, as for the lyrics you have to contact with the band. All songs stand equal and i listened this many times again and again, i liked much Price Of Blood, Behind This Nightmare and Dark End. Good heavy shit. You can contact the band for a copy since this is still available
Download link of four way split is from B C D blog  and split 7" link from Hardcore Disaster blog And as the band says "copy at will" here it is for you, get it. Time for some heavy grinding crust.

Menolak Janji Pemimpin-Made In Kilang Demo 2011

Menolak Janji Pemimpin (Rejecting Leaders Promise) come from Malaysia, i don't know anything about these punks, the demo was sent by one of the members (thanx Riq!) and their blog is in their native language: The demo brings five tracks and nearly eighteen minutes of noisy hardcore with angry shouted vocals and political lyrics in English and Indonesian. The last entry in their blog informs "We have been featured in (the 64 band) Free Aceh Punx MIXTAPE Vol.1, a project by Bandung Pyrate Punx Records". Good! Keep it up and stay strong! cheers!

Wardogs/Kalazaar-split demo tape 2009

A split demo tape with two bands coming from Malaysia and Greece: Wardogs come from Malaysia "...started in late 04 with a few peoples in it known as SOCIAL SECURITY. After play a couple of shows later on S.S split coz of some problems occur, left only three of us. Early 06 we decided to formed back ad play some noise shit distorted to fuck hardcore since there's not much noisy band around. Later on Mario Pet join the band and already do some show with us. So now here's WAR DOGS .. ashes of the SS! ". this tape and a contribution in Disclosed A Tribute to Disclose cd is all i know about them. Kalazaar formed in Athens a few years ago and their discography includes the Back to '80's CDR, a split 7" with (A)-Truth and some appearances in compilations. Music wise both bands move in similar pathways, Wardogs bring six raw pieces of noise ala Disclose and Confuse while Kalazaar deliver seven tracks or raw and distorted anarchopunk in the vein of Disorder and Chaos UK. the tape is available for downloading in Kalazaar's blog.

Discrusher-Raw Demo cdr 2007

Discrusher are the masters of grindcrust noise from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, they formed in 2006 and Raw demo is a five track cdr recorded in 2007, their discography includes also the Raw Noise demo cdr which is the Raw Demo plus three bonus tracks a split cd w Noituus from Finland and the Humanity Brutality 3 way split w Wings of Black Vengeance and Hellexist. Discrusher in the 3 way split deliver tuned down brutal grindcrust with distorted growling vocals that bring the band to the grindcore territory. In Raw Demo the sound is raw and crispy and more in the crust area, the metal edged guitar riffs and the shouted/throaty dual vocals deliver the crust feeling. Tracks are short and the demo lasts for about 6:20", lyrics are in the usual topics (anti-war, freedom etc).

Abysmal Fornikate-Demo 2009 (highly recomented)

Yeah!this is the perfect blending of Fall of Effrafa with Schifosi and From Ashes Rise! Abysmal Fornikate is a five piece act (four guys and one girl), they come from Malaysia and deliver an amazing blending of Fall of Effrafa's emotional parts with the melodies of Tragedy, Remains of the Day and the likes. They formed in 2008 and sometime in the end of year/beginning of '09 they recorded two lenghty songs that last for about fifteen minutes, these tracks were released in February '09 (during the DIY femme fest gig in Malaysia) in a limited to only 50 copies demo. I can't find words to describe this, this is a hidden treasure and much better than what i expected: Acoustic and slow emotional parts are followed by faster crust outbreaks with gloomy melodies and screamed vocals, and then the band slows down the beat for another emotional part and then speeds on and on. Despite the six and eight minutes of each song the result is not boring at all: Guitar riffs and dark melodies and rhythm changes make it really interesting. The sound quality is dissent and appopriate but the band was not satisfied with it and decided not to print more copies of the demo.
Check their myspace and their blog, both tracks (re-recorded) plus four new songs will appear in their next release
