Bozgor - Pénzenergia

Bozgor was a short lived D-beat band from Szombathely, Hungary, formed by members of Gipsy SS and Önkiirtás. Pénzenergia is the one and only recording of the band, it is uploaded in bandcamp and it came to my attention after Diskobra posted about it in farcebook.  Pénzenergia (money power) delivers 8 tracks and 12:20" of  D-beat with the appropriate aggression and power needed for the genre. D-beat drums, agry shouted vocals in reverb, disrtored guitars delivering three chords riffs and pummling bass. Available in bandcamp and Youtube

Diskobra - Agónia

Agónia is the latest and fresh new release by D-beaters Diskobra from Budapest, Hungary. The band started back in 2013 and has several releases tapes and vinyls. Agónia was recorded in August 2019, it is currently in bandcamp and cassette release is coming soon, it consists of eight tracks and sixteen minutes of D-beat and delivers the goods: There's no any  reinvention of wheel but pure D-beat with the usual guitar riffs, basic bass lines, shouted vocals and songs structure, The old school D-beat without the need of endless distortion, the way is played to be as close as can be to Discharge.
The sound quality is excellent and lyrics are a bit melacholic and exress inner darkness: Kobra sings in Hungarian but there is english translation in bandcamp: "What can you take away from someone, who has already lost everything?" looks like someone from the band had bad times lately, Anyway Agónia is a great piece of  D-beat, congruts to the band for this little piece of D-beat shit. Stay tuned for the physical release.

Diskobra-A Diskobra Visszatér 7"

Dirty raw d-beat crust punk from Hungary with lyrics in their mother language about social issues and ex members Human Error, inspired by the scandinavian 80´s bands like Mob 47, Protes Bengt or Discard with a pinch of finnish punk, reminiscent vocal of old classic bands like Kaaos or Terveet Kadet. Diskobra/Displease-Displit 2014

This is the Diskobra/Displease split which comes as cd and cassette on Trismus Records. Diskobra is familiar to the blog visitors since i have posted their previous releases (Demo 2013 and A Diskobra visszatér tape from 2014), this is not their last release since the Distorted Minds In A Sick World 4-way split lp w Final Slum War, Fear Of Extinction, Diskobra, Krueger just came out on Rawmantic Disasters. In this split they contribute four songs of their Discharge worship, same as their previous releases but the fact is that they are getting better and better in each new release. This is in the vein of Distress, Dischange, Varukers, Disaster, Discard, Dispose (from Slovakia) and such bands. Displease come from Ukraine, don't know much about them, they released a cd in 2010 titled Think! on Trismus and Miravoice and they are going to release a split with Besthoven. Here they deliver four tracks of D-beat in the vein of Avskum, with a slight metal flavor. Its really great to see there this punk life in this fucked up country who's in war and while nazis are on the rise. The split comes out as tape (60 copies) and cd and includes the lyrics. All and all this is a nice D-beat release and as the Trismus description says "If you miss technial riffs, ultra fast solos, well... Listen to something else", this is for pure D-beat lovers. No need to say more shit, go and get it. Download link is provided by the bands.

Diskobra-A Diskobra visszatér tape

Diskobra from Budapest, Hungary, started as one man band and as a project of a Human Error member and in February '13 he released the first demo (with the help of another guy in drum duties), one year later and Diskobra come back, they have become a three member band and A Diskobra visszatér (Diskobra's return or something like that) is the second release. Just like the first demo, this is recorded at Revolver Sound Studio, recorded and mixed by Ferencz Zsolt. Music wise it delivers six tracks of old school D-beat, very similar to the first demo, a worship to Discharge reminiscent 4Scums and (early) Distress (maybe because of the lyrics which are in Hungarian and sound similar to Russian. Speaking about lyrics, the lyrics deal with personal and sociopolitical issues of Hungarian society, there is a song about the insane law of being criminal if you are homeless, another song is about sheeple and a couple of songs deal with inner nightmares and emptyness, escapism via alcohol and such shit. Don't know if A Diskobra visszatér comes in physical copies, it is uploaded on bandcamp and there you will find the lyrics. All and all, Diskobra is just another D-beat band and you know what you are gonna get here: Old school pure D-beat coming straight from the '80's, nothing more, nothing less. I didn't see any site or farcebook page of band around this bandcamp page is the only source about them. Go give it a listening

Nocturnal Vigilantia-War is Crime 2014

Nucturnal Vigilantia hail from Budapest, Hugary and this is their "Valentines day gift to politicians, media moguls, CEOs, generals, security agencies, police forces, and churches all around the world!" War is Crime was launched on bandcamp in St Valentine's day and its a piece of political noise/grindcore, this is their first release of this band which conists of three members, a drummer, a guitarist and a vocalist (no bass here), they started in Bovember '13 and "the original idea was to make an incredibly noisy pure grindcore album, (We still do have a four second track), but we then incorporated crust elements into our work."  War is Crime consists of nine songs of political and primitive grindcore ,the mostly lenghty song last 1:57 and the shorted one for only three seconds. The sound is raw and seems to come from rehearshal recording, some songs start with political samples but there are also fun related songs such as the 3 second "Grindcore is the Purest Form of Art Known to Man". The whol thing reminds of the old primitive grindcore from late '80's of early Agathocles and Fear of God: Noise, noise and then noise again and again, the sound engeneering (or the lack of it) seems to have been done by the band in and the recording sounds like a live in a basement so the whole shit  is rough and raw. I wish only there were the lyrics in bandcamp (guys, please put them there!) since th song titles "Self Destructive Stupidity" or "As Seen On TV" sound very cool to my ears. Anyway no more ranting, go and listen some old and primitive grind.

Diskobra-st demo 2013

Same and same story again: Dis-name, Dis letter font logo etc etc.. Another D-beat band, this time is one man band coming from Budapest, Hungary and here's the first recording from February 2013. I don't know anything about Diskobra and according to What We Do Is Not Secret Anymore blog which supports and promotes Hungarian scene "The 'brain' of this record could be familiar for you from the finest Hungarian raw punk band Human Error." Anyway, Diskobra in this recording is one man band  with some help on drums by another guy and will be a full band in the future, the demo consists of seven songs (recorded at Revolver Sound Studio) of raw and angry hardcore and the usual Discharge worship, reminding of the Russian D-beaters 4Scums and (early) Distress (maybe because of the lyrics which are in Hungarian and sound similar to Russian to my ears). The sound quality is excellent, songs are fast and short and lyric wise probably deal with the usual topics, my knowledge on Hungarian language is in zero level so i will  copy/paste this text from What We Do.. blog: Lyrics are "...about the bullshit around you day by day, between gray block of flats on the dark weekdays without any hope to escape. You know, just the basic things" (wot? not any war themed songs here?)
No any information about a physical release, this is available for free downloading in bandcamp and also there is a dnld link provided by the band

Oaken-4 Way split 12" w Locktender, Coma Regalia, Wounded Knee

Oaken hail from Budapest, Hungary and this is their song from the 4 Way split 12" w Locktender, Coma Regalia and Wounded Knee. Oaken  is a downtempo/post-hardcore/doomy/experimental band with main influences from Catharsis, Envy, Fall of Efrafa and 90's screamo bands
This seems to be the first Oaken official release (they have a demo titled The Hunter). Zugló, Oaken's song is a eleven minute epic rhapsody with screamed vocals and pessimistic dark lyrics, acoustic parts, slow passages and goes faster it  reminds Fall of Efrafa and flirts with neo-crust genre. This is really good
if the world survive from the Mayan prophecy the four way split will come out in January 2013, you can get a copy from Moment Of Collapse, Middle-Man, Antithetic, Itai-Itai, Galt House and Dzsukhell Rekords.
Zugló is available for streaming and free downloading in Oaken's bandcamp.many thanks to Z for sending it.
