Stench of Death-Scars of Terror

Stench of Death who are named after Raw Noise's first 7", hail from São Paulo, Brazil, they  a crust punk/crustcore band, they were formed back in 2010, sometime they called it a day, they came back in action in 2018 with Scars of Terror and a single track release and apart from these they have the 4 way split cd with Whipstriker, Nuclear Frost and Infamous Glory (2015) and a contribution to A Tribute to Disrupt - Undead 2xLP (2013). Aparently not much activity all these years but 2018 seems to be a cool turning point and Scars of Terror is a great come back.
Scars of Terror was recorded in 2018 it is available in bandcamp but not any information about physical release and hell yeah, this is so fucking great and deserves to come out as cd or vinyl: Music wise it is a piece of monstrous crustcore: fast, brutal and full aggression, a perfect combination of early Extreme Noise Terror and early Doom. Bringing a crustcore storm that lasts over nineteen minutes long, Scars of Terror sounds like a perfect blending of A Holocaust in Your Head and Warcrimes Inhuman Beings or Bury the Debt, delivering seven songs, of fast, D-beat drive crustcore with rough vocals and even the slower tracks, Religion Fuck Off and Civil War deliver the goods. I guess everybody loves early Doom and Extreme Noise Terror so you are going to enjoy this belter.
Overall, this is a great piece of brutal crustcore and a nice find to me, i hope to see it in physical format and hope to see more from the band, this is available for streaming in bandcamp

Total Silence-Was Born Only to Suffer...(cdr)

One more release from Total Silence, the one man project of Guile.Lundström from Duque De Caxias, this time is a four track cdr released by Decapitated Records in 100 copies. For those who are not familar with the band, Total Silence started back in 2013 as one man army and five years later has several releases under the belt. Was Born Only to Suffer... continues in the same pathway as the previous releases of the project and delivers D-beat punk with an old school flavor reminiscent of Besthöven (i hope to see one day Fofåo and Guile in a split release) and standing in the same high level of quality since 2015 and the days of Mass death and sorrow 12". The sound quality is excellent, the guitar riffs are interesting and total running time is nearly nine minutes. As i said this is available from Decapitated Records (not any link) and is also available in bandcamp along with the lyrics.

Bömbärdeo/Total Silence-War is a black hole to mankind split cd

War is a black hole to mankind is a split cd with two bands well known to the frequenters of this blog since works of both bands are posted here. Bömbärdeo from Chile and Total Silence from Brazil team up and bring six songs (three tracks for each band) of pure D-beat. Bömbärdeo contribute two own songs and one Disclose cover and once again they deliver the goods: Their old school D-beat is just fine, noisy and full of anger and wrath, this is simillar to their recording for the split with D.H.K. the cover of Smell of rotten corpse is excellent and stands equal to the original. Total Silence and Guile bring the D-beat he developed in War Graves and so good in Mass Death And Sorrow, great effort and simillar to Besthöven's noize. Guile's tour in Chile with the addition of two members on bass and drums (as we know Total Silence is one man band) was the reason for this split cd, these songs are going to appear in a split 7" with Brafcharge from South Africa. All and all this is a honest and nice effort from some guys who love D-beat, there is a download link provided by the bands (thanx Asti!), check also the bandcamp pages, the cd was released by Eskaramuza distro, No War Rec, Backpack Recs and Spiral DIYscos

Disacusia-Tripalium ep

Disacusia come from João Pessoa- PB, Brazil and Tripalium is their debute ep, recently uploaded in bandcamp. As usual i know nothing about the band since their mail was "Hello! We are Disacusia band of the city of João Pessoa- PB, Brazil !  We launched our first official material", music wise they deliver Crust D-beat with metallic flavor, i know this sounds generic but thats what they deliver, sometimes they remind of their Brazilian crusties Barrikaadi from Bello Horizonte with a slightly more brutal apporach to music because of the grindcore hints that pop up sometimes. The ep is available in bandcamp, check them in farcebook, twitter, soundcloud and instargram..
And a little trivia:Tripalium is an instrument of torture involving three stakes

Total Silence-Mass death and sorrow 12"

Total Silence is one man D-beat band from Duque De Caxias, Brazil and Mass Death and Sorrow is the first official release after War Graves demo from 2013, Guile, the guy behind Total Silence formed the band in 2012, he's deeply into D-beat punk and after War Graves he contributed in a couple compilations while some more releases are planned for the future, Mass Death and Sorrow was recorded in 2015 and is currently available in bandcamp, it is going to come out as vinyl on Decapitated Recs in 300 copies and as cassette on PogoHai Recs, it consists of fourteen songs and delivers old school D-beat heavinly influenced and rooted in the usual suspects (Discharge, Disaster, Doom, Anti Cimex etc), the whole thing strongly reminiscent of Fofão and Besthoven, the typical D-beat elements are here: There are the typical three chord riffs with some really interesting ideas, basic bass lines, the D-beat drumming while the vocals are shouted with a harse voice surface, in other words this is good shit. The sound quality is decent, the recording is lenghty and lasts 31 minutes. As i said this is going to come out soon (February 2016), check it in bandcamp.

Total Silence-War graves ep 2013

ok here we go again after a long hiatus, i got several mails from bands asking to post  their work, i will try to post all stuff that gathered all these months of inactivity but there will be just posts without the usual meaningless and crappy reviews i did so far in the past.
Total Silence is one man band from Duque de Caxias, Brasil, War graves in a seven track ep released in 2013 and delives D-beat raw punk heavily influenced by Discharge, Anti Cimex, Besthoven, Crude SS. etc Excellent work with decent sound quality, close to country mate Bethoven and congruts to Guile who managed to deliver the goods, i don't know if there is a physcial format War graves but its free in bandcamp. There is also a youtube vid, here. Total Silence appeared in a couple compilations while a split with South African D-beater Brafcharge is on the way and some other releases will follow in 2015, check farcebook page for more

Disprazer-Oriente Médio 2011

Here we go again, some really bad shit happened and i had to have this break, i don't know if i 'll manage to update the blog in regular basis from now on but i can only promise to do my best in posting all bands that have send their work. Apologies to all for the delay but we are back so lets roll it: Disprazer come from Brazil, they were born from the ashes of Fatal Conflict, they are a long running band but only in recent years they recorded some shit: They formed in 2001, they got more serious as band in '03 and later in 2008 they recorded a 13 track demo which included covers of Discharge, Lixomania,Colera and Restos De Nada. In 2009 they released the Middle East cdr and Oriente Médio in 2011. They recently appeared in Freedom Punker Vol 18 comp. If you are good in Portuguese take a look at these interviews in Sohno Negro and Zine Punx Caoticas and you will learn more details about them.  Oriente Médio came out as cdr and consists of eleven tracks blending their influences from Brazilian scene with European bands especially from UK's scene of '80's and delivers wrathful old school hardcore with filthy and raw sound quality and the usual D-beat, lyrics are in Portuguese and deal with topics such as war, death, life in punk subculture etc, the cdr lasts nearly 22 minutes. All and all this is old school flavored hardcore with loads of nostalgia for the '80's hardcore. Thanx to the guy who uploaded in youtube

Warkrust-st ep 2013

"From the distant lands of southern Brazil, Warkrust is a massive sound raw aggression d-beat crust. Formed from the ruins of bands such as Disträto, Barulho Ensurdecedor and Chaka, the 4 members blend their sonic influences to create a unique, heavy, fast, loud, aggressive sound.  Razor sharp guitars, distorted bass, endless d-beat drum and rough female vocals, Warkrust is 101% D.I.Y. hardcore crust punk band. With a negative and apocalyptic theme, Warkrust not have a positive message for you. Listen at maximum volume."  The s/t ep was recorded in winter of 2013 in  Porto Alegre, Warkrust managed to capture intensity, power and brutality in these five tracks and deliver a piece of loud and brutal crust in the vein of old Extreme Noise Terror and Raw Noise. Brutal vocals, fast drumming, raging guitars, a distorted and vicious version of Discharge in high levels of speed and noise. All songs run in fast pace with only a few moments of slow intros, no fillers here, all songs are in the same level of frantic brutality and exterminty. This is really good. The ep is currently on bandcamp, the band is looking for label to release it as cd or vinyl. Recorded, mixed & mastered in by Sebastian Carsin in Hurricane Studio. Overall i can say this is a great piece of brutal crustcore in the vein of Raw Noise, E.N.T. and such bands, Warkrust appeared in Freedom Punker Vol 17 and Cuap3 comp and they are going to appear in the forthcoming Dis Freedom Struggle Continues Vol 2. I wish to hear new songs by them soon. Check them on stage in this vid.

Fear of the Future-Lets ge high before its too late

"Fear of the Future was formed in May 2012 with the proposal to play a punk sound. Influenced by diverse aesthetics, like the rawness of the The Vikings Are Coming LP, the melody of the swedish group Puke, punk rock energy, hardcore aggression and even bands of rock/metal like Judas Priest and Motorhead. The lline-up has Bruno Bonga (vocals, also on Helvetin Viemärit and Kroni), Fred Bahia (guitar and vocals), Felipe Leprose (bass and vocals, also on Stench of Death Terminal Filth and Skarnio) and Marcelo Burchauser (drums, also on Unfit Scum). The demo CD  Lets ge high before its too late was released in early 2013, with five songs. The first official release of the band came out in December of the same year, the Split 7" w/ Distürbia Cladis. Maybe a LP will be released soon." Well, with so many connections with other bands this can not be bad. Honestly, i was expecting something close to Doom since they are named after a Doom song and that feeling was increased since the demo starts with some war sirens warning for an upcoming air raid but things are more mixed here: There is the typical d-beat crust but also some Motorhead influences, melodic solos here and there that fit nicely and some slight hints of metal in guitar riffs but the band stays always in hardcore/punk territories with its direct approach in rawness, noise and the D-beat driven force. The demo is available on bandcamp along with the lyrics. Enjoi it.

Time Killer-Bleed out

Time Killer is a new band from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Bleed Out is their debute ep, released i February '14. The band was formed by people who were in bands such as Deaf Kids, Drone Throne, Prosthetics and Speed Kills and include also a US guy who's currently living in Brazil. "We play a very fuzzed-out and distorted style of hardcore which draws influenced from oldschool speed metal as well as from japanese and scandanavian hardcore". Bleed Out consists of seven tracks of motor crust/crust n roll, this Motorhead influenced hybrid of punk and old school speed metal that smell alcohol. The songs are full of energy, sometimes the Motorhead influences are more than obvious while other times they add some more speed metal riffs. The sound quality is decent, the vocals are shouted and echoed and fit with the whole shit. Sinking in Shit is my favorite track, most of songs are fast with catchy riffs and only the eponymous song is slower and emotional. All and all this is a honest reording, full of energy and power and delivers the goods, this is for fans of Whipestriker, Speedwolf, old school speed metal and Motorhead. Bleed Out is currently available in digital format on bandcamp and Time Killer is looking for label. I didn't see any site of band around but there is a mail for contact

Karne de Cavalo-demo (ensaio ao vivo) 2013

A small break from hiatus with a bunch of posts. i saved some free time and consumed it in these posts as well in 7inchcrust blog for some upcoming posts in next weeks (Shitlickers, Framtid, some Japanese 7 inch compilations etc) , as for the bands who don't see their works here yet, i will post your stuff as soon as i can, within next week (hopefully). So lets hit the road with this one: I can't say much about this shit,  Karne de Cavalo is a duet from Brazil and this is their demo from 2013, they formed in 2012 and this is their first work. 10 tracks of cacophonous noise, fast and thrashing, including one intro and some songs, short as fast that last a few seconds each. This is rehearshal recording, distorted and raw and delivevers so much filthy, primitive and rough noise that leaves no place for any criticism on it. For lovers of extreme underground noise. this is available in bandcamp for free, apart from farcebook, the band has a page in palcom, there

Küiproküó-demo 2013

Küiproküó is a  d-beat trio from Brazil, they formed in spring of  '13 and this is their first demo released in last June, the band sent this demo a few months ago and in the meantime they took part in a four way split with Abusive and JxNxPx (Japura Noise Project) from Brazil, and Poisoned Truth  from Indonesia
Their demo delivers ten songs of distorted and noisy d-beat. the sound quality is raw and filthy, vocals are rough and brutal, lyrics are in Portuguese and if there is a phrase to describe this is "noise brutality"
In the 4 way split they contribute four new songs taken from different recording session with better sound quality, brutality and ferocity are still here but they take it a step beyond straightforward D-beat and they glance at the grindcore/crust-grind territories as the whole shit and drum work is way faster and different to what they deliver in demo, still good and enjoyable though (the rest 3 bands of 4 way split are grindcore acts and fit with Küiproküó )
All and all this is a nice effort even after the slight change of  their direction, if the demo was recorded with better production would be great, wait for more by them and apologies for this long long delay.

Post Atomïc Dogs-Demo 2012

Post Atomïc Dogs hail from Sao Paolo, Brazil and this is their nine song demo. As happens in most bands that i post i don't know anything/much about them. The band formed in 2011 and released this demo in summer of 2012 delivering ferocious and brutal Dis crustcore full of energy and power with some grindcore influences, noisy guitars, fast D-beat drumming with some blasting parts, hoarse brutal vocals and filthy sound which is perfect for the genre, the covers of Driller Killer (Alcoholocaust) and Disrupt (Life's a life) are decently mutilated and the same way the band mutilates the meaning of word music in the rest tracks, give it a listening, this is heavy and brutal Dis crustcore the way Brazilian crusties play.

Shade Of Mankind-Songs Thou Shall Worship

Here's the last of Shade of Mankind and Rodrigo (a.k.a. Roderick Hellion) from Porto Alegre, Brazil: For those who don't remember, Shade of Mankind is one man heavy crust band with death metal and grindcore influences and Fall Out is the first demo released in 2011. Songs Thou Shall Worship is a cover  album and brings six cover songs by bands that have influenced and inspired Roderick: So here we have songs by Integrity, Nasum, Chro-Mags, Amebix, Impaled Nazarene and Eyehategod. This time Roderick had a helping hand from people from Mairinque/Aluminio bands, Dehumanizer from  Umbra Morta (black metal) and Robson from Toxic Carnage (thrash metal). Sound quality is decent, guitar is heavy and tuned down, vocals are rough and brutal but the whole record seems to be recorded in different sessions (Integrity and Chro-Mags tracks sound quality is much different to the rest songs that have a much more raw feeling). Music wise Songs Thou Shall Worship is slightly different to Fall Out since the straight forward D-beat driven crust is missing and is replaced by the black metal, metallic crust  and other genres of covered bands. The cover includes artwork related with each band covered here so we see the gas masked bride and groom of Nasum, artwork from Who's the Enemy 7" of Amebix or Integrity's scull. Well done....
All and all this is a nice effort and a homage to Roderick's favorite bands, this is available for streaming and free download in bandcamp, an interesting review can be found in Manslaughter Thug Life zine
