After White House officials shared findings on the effects of sunlight and common cleaning supplies on the coronavirus, the president suggested heat, light and disinfectant be looked into as possible treatments. Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House coronavirus response, said she hadn’t heard of light or heat being used as a treatment. Other experts and officials have warned against using disinfectants as a treatment method.
