Why lease a Jaguar

It 's always good to have an understanding on the history of a vehicle company, so that you know everything about the brand you are potentially leasing.

Jaguar 's story started back in 1922 when a 21 year old named Billy Lyons created a company that had a partnership with his neighbour. They created motorcycle sidecars back in Blackpool where they lived. Normally, motorcycle sidecars were known to be ugly, but Lyons brought in a new and beautiful style.

After some time, Lyons focused on cars, creating some of the most stylish bodies on top of popular chassis. One of the first cars he created was the Austin 7 Swallow, having a sleek style that again caught people 's eyes.

By 1935, Lyons came up with the name Jaguar. A brand new range was created called the SS Jaguars. The very first sports car, SS100, was produced shortly after. Once the war was over, the SS was dropped, for obvious reasons.

After World War II, Jaguar made their name with a number of elegant, reliable and powerful luxury saloons and sports cars. The Jaguar MK I, introduced at the 1955 Motor Show, appealed to the fashionable home market and the following model, the MK II proved to be extremely successful and even influenced later models such as the Jaguar S-Type.
Over the years, the different designs have become more adventurous and interesting, and they still produce some of the most sophisticated and detailed vehicles to this day.

The Ford Motor Company made a number of offers to purchase shares of Jaguar in 1989 and in 1999 Jaguar became part of Ford's new Primer Automotive Group, alongside Volvo, Land Rover and Aston Martin. Under this new ownership, the company created the massively popular model, the Jaguar S-Type. On the 26th March 2008, Ford sold its Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR) operations to Tata Motors of India for £1.7 billion who have recently seen a significant turnaround and increased profit margin.
