Land Rover Car Leases

Land Rover is now synonymous with luxury all-terrain vehicles however the term "Land Rover" originally referred to a specific model. This model was showcased in 1948 at the Amsterdam Motor Show and became so popular that the name of the model became a brand in its own right. This initial success was in part due to the durability and weather resistance of the aluminium alloy that was used to construct the bodywork of the first Land Rover models.

Why lease a Land Rover

A decade later in 1958, the Series II was launched and three years later came the Series IIA. The company then had a succession of popular and high-selling models including the 1970 Series III, the 1980 5-door Range Rover and the 1983 Land Rover 90. The popularity of these vehicles gave Land Rover a foothold into the American market and helped them to become a global manufacturer of 4x4s, rivalling the success of Jeep. The company then went on to release the Discovery, the second-generation Range Rover and in 1997 the Ranger Rover Freelander.

During the 2000s Land Rover released the Range Rover Sport and the company experienced the production of the 4,000,000th Land Rover, which rolled off the production line in 2007. Now that Land Rover has entered their 60th year they are now in the process of developing new ERAD diesel-electric hybrid motors, which were installed in two concept models at the London Motor Show in 2008. If this technology is installed in future models then it should drastically reduce CO2 production as it enables Land Rovers to pull off and to drive at speeds lower than 20 MPH, without the need to start the engine.
