Sandra Boyd
Sandra has extensive experience in business strategy, financial management and human resource management, having worked with small and medium-sized enterprises across education and services industries. She currently works in education policy and strategy with the Victorian Government. With significant experience in entrepreneurial start-ups, and having profitably operated and subsequently sold her own SME, Sandra has enjoyed mentoring over 100 small scale start-ups across numerous industries. She has been a Going Down Swinging board member since 2019 and is the board Chair.
Vartika Kalapala
Vartika is a finance professional with extensive experience in financial and strategic leadership roles within large organisations. She came on the board at GDS because of her interest in providing finance assistance to a not-for-profit organisation. Vartika has been a Going Down Swinging board member since 2014 and is the board Treasurer.
Elizaveta Maltseva
Elizaveta Maltseva has been working with Going Down Swinging since 2016. She is the curator and manager of the international cross-disciplinary exhibition and book series Return Flight. Elizaveta is a practicing artist and curator with an extensive background in arts management. She ran a commercial photography and events space, Rokeby Studios, for four years, during which she also launched and ran Rokeby Gallery. Elizaveta is the co-founder and presenter of the Drinking with the Artist podcast. She has been a Going Down Swinging board member since 2020.
Anna Kelsey-Sugg
Anna Kelsey-Sugg is a digital producer at the ABC’s Radio National. She is the former editor of The Victorian Writer magazine, and has managed communications for several arts and non-profit organisations, including Writers Victoria, Theatre Network Victoria and the Australian Education Union. She has been a Going Down Swinging board member since 2014 and is the board secretary.
Sonia Nair
Sonia Nair is Program Manager at the Melbourne Writers Festical as well as a writer and critic who has been published by The Wheeler Centre, The Lifted Brow, Meanjin, Time Out, Kill Your Darlings and the Australian Book Review, among others. She has chaired panels and interviewed authors at the Melbourne Writers Festival, the Emerging Writer’s Festival, the Footscray Community Arts Centre and the Wheeler Centre, and blogs about how she never follows her food intolerances at Whatever Floats Your Bloat. She has been a Going Down Swinging board member since 2017.
