A pair of speculative renderings have surfaced online, offering a convincing look at the next-generation 2021 Nissan X-Trail.
Based on official design patent application files that were uncovered last week, the renderings – developed for Russian website Kolesa – illustrate the bold new look previewed by the original grey-on-grey images.
Kolesa's renderings show how closely aligned the look of the new X-Trail SUV will be with Nissan's offerings in North America, where the popular mid-sizer is sold as the Rogue.
Among its siblings there are the Maxima and Altima sedans and the Murano SUV. Each wears a broad and boxy version of Nissan's 'V-Motion' grille, and the new X-Trail is set to adopt the same style.
Little has been confirmed about the new X-Trail, and we may yet again see a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre engine offered here – although Nissan's 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine could be on the cards.
