Recipe for avoiding loneliness while working from home: take the time you would have spent commuting, and be present with friends and loved ones. (Truly present.)

If is widespread in Japan why aren't there more deaths? Possible answer. Japan is great at treating pneumonia, which is how the virus usually kills victims (↘) Autopsies are rare as well (1 to 4%) If people don't die & aren't tested for virus, things appear normal

If you are stuck inside, ignite your imagination. Rediscover reading. Maybe a long, immersive read: Mantel’s trilogy on Cromwell, Asimov’s Foundation Trilogy, Middlemarch, or the Thornbirds or Outlander or the Raj Quartet. Other suggestions? (I’m making a pandemic sugg. list).

I could easily be off 2-fold in either direction, but my best guess is that we're currently in the 10,000 to 40,000 range nationally. 11/13

When working from home, it’s important to take breaks much like you would if you were in the office. I’m doing 10 minutes of art for some of my breaks.

You’re now telecommuting from home. In other words, you’re remotely accessing cloud resources from where you live instead of from the office with the crappy coffee and noisy peers.

New to working from home remotely? Remember to get up and move around regularly - it’s easy to sit down, focus, and next thing you know 3 hours have gone by. Alarms, apps help. Also frequency drinking (so you are forced to use the bathroom).

The author missed an important detail in quote “finally build a culture that allows long-overdue work flexibility.” It’s not about remote work, it’s about a culture of autonomy and flexibility. This is where meaningful work thrives.
