    I can’t be the only one who finds it ironic that the EU did the grunt work to formalize principle based data/security/privacy provisions from a national security & civil liberties perspective while the US just rams through some boycotts that make no sense but sound bad ass

    the main takeaway is that a resurgence of covid & the economic restrictions that follow are inevitable. To mitgitate the economic effects, govs have to implement long term policies & infra that allow the max economic activity in the fall/winter w/out another lockdown.

    Countries that manage to extend the “slow growth” period are buying their economy days, maybe months of “normal economic activity” to offset the lockdown. The full effect will be in quarterly GDP metrics. The Euro will strengthen as the EU squeezes more open days till the fall
