Coronavirus Public Health Information

Drupal Association Update March 25, 2020

We thank the Drupal community for their support and patience as the Drupal Association explores options for DrupalCon North America in light of COVID-19.

Who will be there?

DrupalCon is an established event where the Drupal-curious and experts alike meet in person

The defining annual open source event for Drupalers since 2005

Whether you work in higher education, nonprofits, public administration, brand management, Drupal development, a government entity or for big or small company, we invite you to gather in person to share your knowledge and build on your Drupal innovation.

Informative, tailored sessions cover timely topics; Drupal 9? Yes. Accessibility? Yes. Drupal migrations? Yes.

But DrupalCon goes beyond the knowledge you'll acquire to use in your position. DrupalCon is meeting the person who just gave an eye-opening presentation, and then meeting thought leaders you'd be sitting next to at the DriesNote, where Drupal founder Dries Buytaert gives his annual "State of Drupal" talk full of keen insight and vision. Hear from keynote Mitchell Baker, co-founder of the Mozilla Project: the organization best known for its open source browser, Firefox.

Innovators, like you, join one of the largest open source communities gatherings. It is the must-attend event for executives, agencies, marketers and builders in the Drupal realm.

Past DrupalCon attending organizations include: Accenture, ACLU, Acquia, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Columbia University, Comcast, Elevated Third, FFW, General Electric, Harvard Medical School, IBM, iHeart Media, Johnson & Johnson, Lullabot, Major League Soccer, MasterCard, Mediacurrent, Meredith Corporation, NASA, NBA, Nestle, Pantheon, Paramount Pictures, Pfizer, Phase 2, Pinterest, Platform.sh, Princeton University, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Stanford University, Tag1, Tesla Motors, Time Inc., Turner Broadcasting, Universal Music Group, Viacom International Media Networks, Warner Music Group, and many more Drupal development specialists.

The sessions are here! Explore the topics and presenters/speakers for different tracks.

Congratulations to our first round of grant & scholarship recipients!

The initial group from around the world has been selected to receive aid for 2020. Ten people are receiving community development scholarships to further their work in their communities by attending DrupalCon. Four are receiving contributor grants, which focus on their roles contributing code to Drupal, organizing contribution events, and/or mentoring.

Our program provides assistance to those who may not otherwise be able to attend DrupalCon Minneapolis, and we've had a record-setting number of applicants! Funding—which totals approximately $70,000 for the 2020 scholarships & grants—is through the support of our generous conference partners, as well as conference registrations from Drupal community members.

Welcome to Minneapolis

In Minneapolis, you're never more than six blocks from a park, and chances are you'll see a few lakes as well. Minneapolis is home to a thriving culture of food, music, and the great outdoors.
From the Stone Arch Bridge to Minnehaha Falls, from Northeast Arts District to Eat Street, there's a gem of a city to be discovered.

Discovery is part of DrupalCon, so plan to join us in Minneapolis.

News & Updates

The health and safety of our attendees is of utmost importance and decisions regarding DrupalCon are made with this as the priority. Information about COVID-19 is rapidly changing and is being monitored by the Drupal Association Events Team staff daily.

With no mandated restrictions from the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. State Department, or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, there are no plans to postpone or cancel DrupalCon Minneapolis. The Drupal Association is following the recommendations made by these regulatory and advisory agencies.

This year’s DrupalCon program committee was bigger, and perhaps more ambitious, than ever before! This was my (betalister) first time wrangling this project and I'm grateful to have had the honor of their company and support while on this big adventure.

The accepted sessions for the next DrupalCon are here—and what an impressive lineup!

Curated content for the 45-minute sessions is packed with compelling insight, information, and your chance to learn the latest in Drupal. Read on for a sampling of sessions.

The handful of hotels we have selected in Minneapolis each offer an ideal hub — connecting you to a rewarding DrupalCon community experience. This year, choose from multiple Hiltons, a Hyatt, a Holiday Inn and more as part of our special DrupalCon attendee offerings. Why is staying at a DrupalCon partner hotel great for you and the community? Read on!

DrupalCon is our annual stomping ground... Sure, local and regional camps and meetups are fun, but where else can more than 3,000 Drupalists get together and reunite, socialize, share knowledge, set goals and move the Drupal project forward for a whole week?
