Inclusive ProgrammingOur philosophy is to ensure that all students with special needs have opportunities to be in regular classrooms whenever possible. Indigenous EducationWithin our schools, we work with local Indigenous leaders to engage parents and families to support student success through collaborative partnerships. We strive to develop culturally relevant programs, resources and student supports. Also referred to as First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education (FNMI) Education. Early LearningThe Early Childhood Development Program offers literacy-enriched play for children who are 3 years old before December 31st of the upcoming school year. Fort McMurray Public Schools provides Kindergarten and ECDP programs in each of its elementary schools. Mental Health SupportsMental health supports in schools are integrated with services provided through government (Alberta Health, Child and Family Services) and through community agencies. School counselors across the District provide both individual and group interventions that focus on identifying core problem areas and supporting classroom learning.
