1. Arbeitsteilung tut Not. Es braucht feste Verantwortlichkeiten für die unterschiedlichenen Ebenen (Presse AG, Media Group, Verhandlung usw.).

Talks about evictions: How was the evening for „Liebig14″?
The house opposite Liebig34 was evicted at the beginning of 2011. Thiswas preceded by an almost two-year campaign and part of the „Wir bleiblen alle (we will all stay)“ campaign, which brought together around 10 threatened projects. Without the WBA campaign, the unanimous opinion at the Eviction Talks last week, the Liebig14 campaign would not have been able to develop such a dynamic. The situation at that time is partly comparable with the situation of today and the „interkiezionale“ networking: again several threatened projects have joined forces, again battles are being fought for individual houses in substitution for those yet to come.
What were the success factors for WBA?
1. the fights at all levels (scene, at the universities, round tables with politics, neighbourhood work, international networking, militancy etc.) The aim of the project is to establish a relationship between all levels without distancing itself from different forms of resistance.
2. learning together from dead ends of action (e.g. registered demos, which are always superimposed by police violence and frustration) and finding new ways (e.g. spontaneous actions, cornerning, critical mass) and offering different levels of participation (cops can nerve any*r.
3. to impart mutual (action) knowledge (workshops, trainings etc.) in order to prepare everyone for the „decentralized actions“.
4. always consider threatening repression and out-of-action in the planning phase and address them in the mobilisation phase.
The fact that Liebig14 ultimately failed to defend itself is attributed to several reasons. The eviction was not legal, but the cops nevertheless created facts. For the senate, the Liebig14 was also an exemplary fight against the left-wing scene and for the revaluation of the neighbourhood. With the relativization of law by the constitutional state itself, we must also find a way to deal with it today.
And after the „Big Bang“, the 1 million property damage, a vacated house and many arrests, the air was out at the WBA campaign. How do we remain capable of action afterwards, find new living spaces, expand further? How can we actually live up to the slogan „you can‘t evict ideas“?
Concrete suggestions for today’s campaigns:
1. division of labour is necessary. We need fixed responsibilities for the various levels (Press working groups, Media Group, negotiations, etc.).
2.The political situation is very favourable for the preservation of projects (most Berliners are now affected by gentrification, many cultural places are also acutely endangered, the handling of the problem has not yet been discussed out, so more radical answers can be popularised).
3. the actual goals of preservation (e.g. as protected, non-commercial places) should therefore be clearly defined and identifiable in actions.
As always, there was a moderately focused discussion on experiences in neighbourhood work, which will certainly continue to play a role in the next Eviction Talks.
