Originario de las Islas Feroe y ahora afincado en Uk, después de años viviendo en Copenhagen, Teitur Larssen es uno de esos artistas que uno no entiende porqué permanecen siendo auténticos desconocidos. A pesar de ello, sus discos siempre han sido excelentemente recibidos por la crítica y goza de una notable reputación en Estados Unidos, donde ha dado cientos de conciertos y ha sido telonero de gente como Suzanne Vega o John Mayer, quien se confiesa gran admirador suyo. Acaba de editar en el Reino Unido "The Singer", que representa su debut en las islas, pero es ya su cuarto trabajo después de editar un disco en su lengua materna, Kata Hornio. Teitur compone canciones de pop elegante y tremendamente emotivo, que conviene no perderse, y que le situan cómo uno de los talentos más interesantes del actual panorama músical. "The Singer" se puede descargar de forma gratuita registrándose en su Myspace. Nosotros te ofrcemos dos canciones pertenecientes a su tercer largo, " Stay Under The Stars", también muy recomendable.

Hailing from the Feroe Islands and now living in UK after a lot of years in Copenhagen, Teitur Larsen is one of those artists that is hard to understand why they remain so unknown for may people. Eventhough their records had been very well received by critics in the US and he already has a notable reputation there, having played a lot of gigs, and supported artists like Suzzane Vega and Johnn Mayer, who is one of his biggest fans. Teitur is a gifted songwriter that composes elegant and strongly emotive pop songs that shouldn't be missed, as it might be one of the most talented artists in today's singer/sonwriter's scene. La Strada

La Strada definen su música como el romance entre la instrumentación del pasado y la amplificación del futuro. El uso de instrumentos de viento, acordeon, unas cuidadas armonías vocales y el gusto por el nuevo folk son las señas de idenditad de este septeto de Nueva York al que muchos situan en la misma onda de bandas como Beirut o Neutral Milk Hotel. Su Ep de debut se editará en las próximas semanas.

Depeche Mode: Wrong

Otro estreno importante esta semana es el del nuevo single de Depeche Mode, el cual presentaron en directo en los Echo Awards, los premios alemanes de la música. Wrong será el primer single de "Sounds of The Universe", su duodecimo trabajo, que verá la luz en Abril. Potente y oscuro, el tema reune todos los requisitos para convertirse en uno de los hits del año. El vídeo oficial fue filtrado ayer por un fan en youtube, pero ha sido retirado por la banda a la espera de la publicación del single.

Another important premiere this week, is Depeche Mode's new single, Wrong, which was played live for the first time at Germany's Echo Awards. Wrong will we the first single taken from " Songs of The Universe", their 12th album coming in April. Is a dark and powerfull song, with all the potential to become one of the hits of the year. The official video was leaked into Youtube yesterday, but has been banned by the band until the single is released.

"One Last Century" is the third work from Brooklyn's The Damwells, a really good band that probably hasn't get all the recognition they records deserve; excelent collections of classic pop-rock with strong Americana touches, perfectly executed and with flawless production. This time, the whole record can be downloaded for free through Paste Magazine, a decision that they explain on their web, and it's worth reading.

Danny Todd, conocido compositor y productor en Irlanda del Norte trabajó en su adolescencia en una tienda de café donde era el cajero número cinco. Eso le dió la idea para el nombre de la que ahora es su banda, Cashier No.9 donde da rienda suelta a su talento musical en una atractiva y personal mezcla de country, indie-rock y electrónica. "42 West Avenue", su primer single, ha recibido excelentes críticas de la prensa especializada y ahora acaban de editar el segundo, " When Jackie Shone" adelantos ambos de un debut que se publicará este año.

Danny Tood, a well known composer, guitarrist and producer in Northern Ireland worked as cashier numer five in a coffe shop when he was a teenager. That served as an idea for the name of his actual band, Cashier No.9, where he gives freedom to his musical talent in an atractive and personal mix of country, indie-rock and electronica. "42 West Avenue", their first single, got many rave rewiews on the British music media and now they have just published "When Jackie Shone" the second before the release of a debut album coming this year.

All Of Us In Our Night is the second work from Athen's Modern Skirts; this time Mike Mills (REM) has produced one of the songs, leaving another four for David Lowery (Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven) while the band self-produced the rest. Antes de la inminente reunión de los Strokes para entrar en el estudio a grabar el que será su cuarto album, sus componentes siguen demostrando su buen hacer y su categoría como músicos en sus proyectos paralelos. Después de Fabrizio Moretti y Little Joy, llega el proyecto del bajista Nikolai Fraiture, quien bajo el nombre de Nickel Eye acaba de publicar "Time Of The Assasins" un disco en el que ha contado con la colaborción de la banda South y de gente como Regina Specktor y Nick Zinner de los Yeah Yeah Yeah's.
