    Again, this is the level of police brutality we see when the cameras are on, when the internet is working. We can't even begin to imagine the utter misuse of brute force in the absence of those. If you can't extend solidarity to Kashmir even after this, you aren't human.

    Much of the criticism against TV news is justified, but there are some of us who rise above the noise. So its disappointing that some of the best minds in this country, who call themselves liberals, refuse to share space with BJP or RSS panellists, the most illiberal thing to do

    It is astounding that "Bangladesh" is now practically a term of abuse in so much of India. Right till 70s, the word was simply a formal way to refer to Bengal. Check out Goopy and Bagha, for example, telling Raja of Shundi they came from "Bangladesh".
