The Walter Darby Bannard Archive is an online archive of written works by and about Walter Darby Bannard. Bannard has written over 130 essays and letters of comment on the topics of art, aesthetics, and arts issues. His lucid, insightful writings have inspired decades' worth of artists, championing the triumphs of the Modernist achievement, humanist values in art, clear seeing, clear thinking, and an aesthetic approach that values practice over theory. He continues to paint, write and teach at the University of Miami.
Franklin Einspruch, WDB Archive Editor, is adding content to the site on an ongoing basis, with the intention of making the WDB Archive into a central repository for Bannard's ideas and a resource for future scholarship about his work. For more information, contact Franklin Einspruch.
