PEOPLE don't get periods. Women do. PEOPLE don't get pregnant. Women do. PEOPLE don't breastfeed. Women do. Being FEMALE is not a "feeling". It isn't frilly dresses, high heels, long hair & make up. I'm sick of seeing my sex erased & trivialized to accommodate everyone else.

Outrageous that Yaqoob was even allowed back into the party after the campaign she ran against Naz Shah, let alone that she is allowed to stand in a mayoral selection

So many African women and girls using this tag have suffered in silence, because that’s what womanhood is defined as. Always don’t care about the struggle of women and girls but when “Ben” is offended they listen and erase what it is to be female. Thanks Always.

Celebrating a woman’s death on Twitter isn’t liberation politics. It’s spineless, spiteful behaviour that exemplifies the worst of male socialisation - a complete lack of empathy for women, and no regard for women’s lives.

How is he able to pretend anymore he is not a massive hypocrite? As well as a massive misogynist:

OJ loves calling radical lesbian feminists 'homophobic' but seems to have a handy get out of jail free card for Yaqoob. Do you all remember when he wrote this?

1/3 When asked to condemn the anti-LGBT protests at Birmingham schools, Salma Yaqoob, 100% endorsed by Owen Jones, says there’s “responsibility on all sides” & attacks Andrew Moffat, the gay assistant headteacher who invented No Outsiders to teach children about equality.

Those two stand exactly for the middle class misogyny that Orr devoted her life to opposing and the minute she's gone they have to put themselves at the front of the tributes so they can feel virtuous. It's shameless and despicable, and a sign of sociopathy

If there were to be an award for self-aggrandising hypocrisy decided today, the judges would have to do a Booker and give it to both Owen Jones and Patrick Strudwick. Those of you that know will know exactly what I mean.

I’ll tell you this for free: Deborah wouldn’t be putting up with any of this bullshit

Love Deborah Orr for so many things, but right now, I am thinking about her speaking out about things many women don't/can't speak out about. She deserved way more than she had.

at exercise class, instructor told us she expected women to row at 110 watts, & men to row 150 watts. needless to say when I recovered from the shock of hearing this nonsense about men & women being different, I reported her transphobia & had her fired in honor of Rachel McKinnon

For all those lesbians who are constantly told we “look like men”, it is offensive to be asked “what are your pronouns?” |

Thank you for standing firm. But please note: Meghan Murphy does not argue against transgender rights; she argues against naïve policies (such as Bill C-16) which are failing to protect our rights, and making things worse for us.

The person pictured in the article is my friend. She was brave to share her story about assault and trafficking. An indigenous survivor who just started feeling hopeful that our party was a safe and reliable space. You've let us all down by being making it otherwise.
