Warning of 'dire consequences' for some Murray-Darling irrigators if water trade restricted

There are fears government intervention in the water market could have "dire consequences" for some Murray-Darling Basin irrigators but horticulture groups that lobbied the federal Water Minister for action on soaring water prices say it can't come soon enough.

A large inland trough combined with a low-pressure system currently residing over the Great Australia Bight is resulting in a large array of weather today in South Australia.  An inland trough which has been moving east across the country over the past few days and is now situated just above Oodnadatta, stretching down to the coast around Adelaide.
