Fundraiser dinner and quiz night Sat Dec 6

Black Swan is having a dinner and quiz night on Saturday December 6 at Mad Mouse. There will be prizes for the winners and games between rounds. Food will be South African themed and vegan.

One quarter of the money raised we will donate to Mad Mouse.

The rest will be donated to the South African ShackDweller’s Movement (Abahlahli baseMjondolo). This radical, mass, working-class, housing movement has recently been under brutal attack by the South African state with crime syndicates being used to assassinate organisers of the group.
More about the group: http://abahlali.org/node/1391/

Entry is $5 suggested donation with food by donation. 6pm for a 6.30pm start on the quiz. Group sizes will likely be around 5 people but this is flexible and will be adjusted at the event, however you can start arranging a group with your smartest friends if you want.

6pm Sat December 6, Mad Mouse Alley, behind 129 Currie St (enter off Light Square).

Why I Became an Anarchist – Public Talk – Sat August 30

Having grown up under Communism in Bratislava, Slovakia (former Czechoslovakia), Don Baláž struggled as best he could for equality under a strict regime.

Upon arriving to Australia, he realised that Capitalism was also problematic and decided there had to be a different solution.

He’ll be joining us at The Co-op Coffee Shop to discuss why and how he became an Anarchist, the differences between western and eastern regimes, as well as how his former home has changed since the end of the Cold War. There will also be plenty of time for questions.

Nibbles will be provided, however please bring along a plate of food to share.

6.30pm Saturday August 30 at the Co-op Coffee Shop, 129 Currie St, Adelaide.

May Day March Sat May 3

Anyone is welcome. 2.30 til 4PM Sunday December 22, Mad Mouse Alley, behind 129 Currie St (enter off Light Square).
