Libertad: Selected Writings of Individualist Anarchy

A collection of writings by & about visionary French individualist anarchist Albert Libertad.

From the text:

One comrade said of him that he was a one-man demonstration, a latent riot. His style of propaganda was summed up by Victor Serge as follows: “Don’t wait for the revolution. Those who promise revolution are frauds just like the others. Make your own revolution by being free men and living in comradeship.” His absolute commandment and rule of life was, “Let the old world go to blazes!” He had children to whom he refused to give state registration. “The State? Don’t know it. The name? I don’t give a damn, they’ll pick one that suits them. The law? To the devil with it!” He sung the praises of anarchy as a liberating force, which people could find inside themselves.

Butterflies, Polyamory & Ideology: Letter on Inconsequence

From the text:

How many pamphlets are needed to explain how to fuck, how to love, what relationships one should have with one’s body? How many narrow standards for our desires and perceptions? How many of us, now past the excitement of the misleading freshness of being sixteen or twenty years old, have not managed to find ourselves in these new models of pseudo-freedom? How many have had to suffer being told that they were not made for freedom because they liked only one person and were loved only by one person? How many have whipped themselves for experiencing jealousy, have felt consumed by the other under the pretext of their freedom? How many have felt uncomfortable under the inquisitive eyes of those who believe they are free while living in a social order based on domination? Forgotten in the sectarian and ideological confinement of small cliques, is that there are still billions of people around us.

Let’s Become Dangerous: For the Diffusion of the Black International by Conspiracy of Cells of Fire

From the text:

No, our burned banks are not a way of protest or a token of friendship and solidarity with the “poor person” who does nothing and sits on his couch. It is a way to express our “I”. An “I”, that wants to stand out from the herd of slaves, an “I” that does not bow the head down, an “I” not waiting for the crowd to revolt, an “I”, which claims his own name, his own “acronym” and does not hide behind anonymity. The meeting time of the revolted ‘Egos’ takes up the name that we give to it. Its name is FAI and it is our “we”. A collective “we”, armed with razors against our enemies.

Beyond Right & Wrong by Conspiracy of Cells of Fire

From the text:

We want to create the possibilities of acting with people who feel stifled in the social cages imposed on them by authority and want to rebel… Our joy is great in any such new meeting with new comrades who bear the sign of complicity. No matter their numbers… What is important is that the effort is worth it…

A Few Words of “Freedom”: An Interview with Alfredo Cospito by Conspiracy of Cells of Fire – Imprisoned Members Cell

From the text:

When you start doing what could drive people to your side instead of what you think is right, you do politics. From the moment you impose limitations on yourself out of fear of not being understood, you are, de facto, already a political entity, and therefore you become part of the problem, one of the many cancers that infect our existence. One should never measure his own words and actions just to become acceptable to people, to the crowd, otherwise there is great risk of being transformed by the very ‘intermediate’ objective he wants to achieve.

The Phoenix Project: Initiatives of Combative Anarchy, 2013-2014

phoenix project_Page_01

A collection of the first 14 communiqués of the Phoenix Project, an anarchist initiative of informal attacks against power.

We present this as a minor contribution to the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners. Solidarity to all imprisoned comrades and those on the run!

From the text:

For us, there is no middle ground. They who declare openly their anarchist intentions are facing a decisive dilemma, to either act or give up anarchy forever. There can never be anarchy at the rear of coffee shops and gossiping… Either act or shut up…

A Conversation Between Anarchists

Conversation Between Anarchists

From the text:

An informal anarchist organization flows like water and takes new forms according to the action it wants to carry out. Comrades involved in this kind of organization are not ‘enrolled members’ but continue to maintain their autonomy and individuality. Informal organization promotes concepts such as individual initiative, open dialogue and disagreement, collectivization of the desires that are arming themselves in order to become practice. Informal anarchist organization moves incessantly and keeps itself extraneous to revolutionary dogmas and truths, as immobility is an enemy of freedom. Furthermore, stagnant water only produces putrefaction and poisoning. With this spirit and values the CCF was born, organized itself and continues to exist. It is no vanguard or specialized group, but a spark which – we would like the same to happen with FAI/FRI – will expand like flames until the entire world and its civilization is set on fire.

The Sun Still Rises

the sun still rises
From the text:

We believe that the concept of the anarchist urban guerrilla isn’t a separate identity one assumes only while engaging in armed attack. Rather, we feel it’s a matter of merging each person’s private and public life in the context of total liberation. We aren’t anarchists only when we throw a Molotov at a riot police van, carry out expropriations, or plant an explosive device. We’re also anarchists when we talk to our friends, take care of our comrades, have fun, and fall in love. We aren’t enlisted soldiers whose duty is revolution. We are guerrillas of pleasure who view the connection between rebellion and life as a prerequisite for taking action.

Communization: The Senile Decay of Anarchy

Communization Decay of Anarchy

From the text:

We renounce, therefore, any notion of “class struggle” which, in its most radical form, the Marxist variation, aims to the conquest of power through the dictatorship of the proletariat. We spit on the “experts” of revolution, the communist leadership, the veterans and the “anarchist” personas of public relations that compete with each other for the position of the greatest helmsman of revolution. Besides, liberation will come when we smash the heads of our self-appointed “liberators”.
