BYE

It's never nice to break crappy news. After some serious discussion we've made the decision to wrap Divorce up. No fights or no fall-outs, we just feel we've done as much as we can and said as much as we feel we are able to say. After 5 years of making the most punishing music we were capable of and having the most fun we possibly could, we wanted to end it before it got boring and/or started sounding pish.

There's a HUGE list of people that we want to thank for helping us last this long and have such a great time doing the band - it's so huge that it'd be kinda tedious to read, but extra-special mention must be given to Michael at Night School Records for releasing our album plus all the other labels that put our tunes out:: Milk / 666ties / Gravy / Winning Sperm Party / Optimo Music / Merok /// Also, big thanks to Kirmes & Grinni at Eine Welt Aus Hack for helping organise so many awesome shows for us. The list of awesome bands & promoters who we've played with & for is too massive to list, but for everyone who has helped us in any way over the years, we're truly grateful.... and of course, everybody who ever came out to see us play or bought one of our records we say THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

As a token of our affection and also because we're really lovely and stuff, we've put our final unreleased recordings up our bandcamp page, which can be downloaded FOR FREE (or whatever you want to pay)! We recorded the EP, called 'Seance Fiction', in Glasgow at Devil's Own Studio with our good buddy Ali Walker just after our final tour in April. We hope you enjoy! (We've also got a small amount of t-shirts left in small, medium & large that we've reduced in price to £3. They're available via our bandcamp page too so if you want one get on it quick as there's only a handful left!

And as a reminder of the 'good times' *sniff*, Vickie has put together a lovely video reminiscipackage of our final tour around Europe, including footage of some of the awesome bands we played with like Batalj, Run Dust, Honig, Sightings, Les Morts Vont Bien & Autovogel::::

So YEAH, that's kinda that then! Thanks for showing interest in our gammy wee band, it was a good chuckle - see you later!

We are now back in Glasgow after our tour around Europe & The UK, slowly recovering from a totally mindblowing three weeks away... so many great times it's hard to even begin to describe, but it can be easily said we had the time of our lives. So many new friends made, seeing lots of old friends again and SO MANY AWESOME SHOWS!!!!

We have to specifically thank Dougie and his van (Vangelis) for getting us to every show come hell or high water, Sofia for joining us for a few shows and being super-awesome and Kirmes & Grinni at Eine Welt Aus Hack for making the whole thing possible... and of course to all the badass promoters who put us on and put us up, the amazing bands we played with and to everybody who made it out to a show. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some footage from various shows have started to surface too:

If anyone has any more footage email us at puredivorced@googlemail.com

Andy has also put together a mixcloud with a selection of tracks from some of the bands we played with; we urge you to investigate!

TRANS-EUROPE EXCESS

TOUR TIME!!!!

First up, a HUUUUGE thank you to everybody who came to see us play last Saturday night at Bloc for the monthly TYCI event, it was absolutely INSANE!! A fantastic way for us to start our year! Massive thanks to Lauren and the TYCI crew and everybody at Bloc for being so accommodating too!

We're hitting the road next month for three whole weeks, tearing through the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Holland. We had such an amazing time in 2011 when we last hit Europe with our homies Stig Noise, we're dying to return to the scene of previous crimes as well as play to some fresh faces too!

To tie-in with our trek our album from last year will be getting re-released by Night School Records on CD in a limited edition double-disc package, with the second CD comprised of the tracks we released on various 7"s and EPs in 2011 and 2012. It's the first time any of these recordings have been made available on CD and it's packaged in a lush gatefold risographed wallet, printed by the Footprint Workers Co-op in Leeds, on eco-friendly thick card. Only 500 are being made and we'll have them to sell on tour, alongside plenty of vinyl!

THANKS // PLANS

So yeah, 2012 was a pretty nice year for us! Having the very excellent Night School Records release our debut album was a big big BIG deal, so for that we are massively grateful!

Huge thanks to the people who have actually bought the thing too, who have come to see us play and generally make it possible for us to keep doing more of the same stuff - 2013 is looking to be just as busy, if not busier than 2012, which is great!

Our first gig of 2013 will be in Glasgow on Saturday February 9th, playing the TYCI club night at Bloc, then soon after that we'll once again head down south to England as well as also returning to Europe from mid-March to early April, with dates in France, Germany, Austria and Holland all on the cards. Exact shows are still being finalised right now, but when everything is sorted we'll post all the info here!

To coincide with our tour Night School will be re-releasing our album as a limited edition double CD, the first disc being our 2012 LP and the second disc will compile all the songs we released on various singles and EPs through 2011 and 2012. None of this music has been made available on this format before and it will be limited to 500 copies (we'll still have vinyl formats of our music available on the tour as well)!

We wish you a happy new year & expect more news very very soon!

NOVEMBER REIGN

Now that Facebook has started it's Myspace-like decline into obsolescence, it's probably a good time to start using this blog a bit more frequently (we've also got a Twitter page should you feel so inclined).

Last month we played two truly fantastic shows, both at Nice'N'Sleazys (their new PA system is just FEROCIOUS!), firstly with the absolutely mind-blowing Doomsday Student (former members of Arab On Radar, Chinese Stars & Athletic Automaton) and then with Glasgow's own riff-monsters Holy Mountain. Thanks to them, to Sleazys & to everyone who came along!

We've got one last show planned for this year, it's happening on Sunday November 18th at The Old Hairdressers on Renfield Lane, Glasgow. Also on the bill are German dada-doom-duo Honig (who we had the pleasure of playing with in Munich last year) & The Modern Institute. Doors are at 8pm & it's £4 in. A practically redundant Facebook event page can be found here.

Lastly, a quick reminder that our recently released debut album is available on purple or green 12" vinyl with download code from Night School Records and digitally from our own Bandcamp page.
