“The Little Green Book”
by Ayotollah Khomeini – Founder and Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran: 1902-1989
A collection of idiotic Fatawah which, although delightfully quirky, nevertheless influence the thinking and lifestyles of millions of muslims around the World today.

Who is Yusuf Islam, previously Cat Stevens? It might shock his fans to learn that the recycled troubadour is a zealous Muslim and a rabid anti-Semite. The aging feline, Cat Stevens, morphed into Yusuf Islam when he submitted to Islam in 1977.
Originally Steven Demetre Georgiou, alias Steve Adams, alias Cat Stevens, alias Yusuf Islam, he is now known merely as Yusuf. Good strategy to drop the inconvenient surname of Islam. It indicates an affinity to Mohammed's Islam and might not impress perceptive fans of the former Cat Stevens.

Throughout the widespread Chinese culture that has lasted for 4000 plus years, there have been many deities and saintly sages and warriors who have been worthy of reverence and worship based on not just their extraordinary ability, but more specifically their adherence to the Laws of Heaven and moral quality. Traditional Chinese religion which incorporates Taoism (Daoism), Confucianism and Buddhism (the Mahayana strand from India), is filled with such deities, saints, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Amongst the most remembered of these deities to Taoism, Confucianism and Chinese Buddhism is none other than the 2nd Century Warrior and General Guan Yu (關羽- c.161-219A.D), who is also known as Guan Di (Emperor Guan 關帝-title awarded to him posthumously. Another of his well-renowned titles is Guan Gong 關公). In fact, due to his earthly reputation not only as a skilled warrior but also as a righteous person in his overall conduct, it has become a common association throughout traditional Chinese societies, to associate him with the code of righteousness (義-Yi, which also includes uprightness and justice). It is interesting to note also that not only has he been called the “Saint of Martial Artists” (武聖-Wu Sheng)and warriors, but also that he has been revered by both the police force and the triad societies in Hong Kong due to the principles of honor and uprightness that he represents. Besides temples, his memory and legacy is continued on earth through the many dramatizations in film, opera and literature via the accounts of Romance of the Three Kingdoms (三國演義-San Guo Yan Yi).

Australians celebrate and revere Anzac Day on April 25th each year in remembrance of our brave soldiers who fought in two great world wars to secure our freedom. Every Australian identifies with the slogan “lest we forget” and in services held around the country people reflect on the battles and men who died to secure our freedom. Yet across the world in France, there is one remarkable battle which helped form the Europe we know today and allowed the development of civilization based on Judeo Christian principles. This one famous battle has become known as the battle of Tours and effectively stopped the Muslim advance into Europe. After the death of Mohammed in 632AD, Muslim armies exploded out of the Arabian peninsula to conquer much of the Middle East, expanding across north Africa. From there they crossed into Spain in 711AD and eventually controlled much of al-Andalus by 715AD. It was the victory at Tours by Charles Martel that stemmed the tide and eventually the Muslim marauders were expelled from Spain in 1492 when the last outpost at Granada fell to King Ferdinand of Spain.

Stop fretting, you lot.
Islam is a religion of peace.
The Dalai Lama said so.
Not on this current trip, I don’t think; I didn’t hurry along to bask in the wisdom, myself, but some time ago I did see him on youtube nodding and smiling sagely as a Muslim professor of Islamic studies and philosopher, Sayeed Hossein Nasr, held forth in a kind of global interfaith session about “happiness.” His Holiness of course is a popular expert, author and judge on this subject.

Non-Muslims or exMuslims who know Islam’s text in the Arabic and particularly those who know classical Arabic (few people) will tell you that the text is ‘worse’ meaning more horrifying and more deadly in the original classical Arabic than we are led to believe in English ‘translations.’ Islamic terminology carries with it concepts, cultural practices and a worldview belonging to an ancient Arab society. The words translated into English or modern European languages fail to convey the full meaning that would be understood in an Arabic/Muslim society. Only the original classical Arabic koran is the true text which cannot be changed and anything else is merely an interpretation and can be ‘modified.’ Dr Mark Durie a linguist and specialist in Islam explains some of the problems with our correct understanding of Islamic text which is often a translation of the ‘meaning’ as explained by the commentaries rather than a direct translation. He notes that the real meaning can be ‘lost in translation’ with possible disastrous results as we fail to comprehend the real message in Islamic text.

To my fellow Peacenicks, Interfaithers, and Multiculturalists (PIM)
We are facing the threat of extinction (F.Capra p7) from a multitude of forces. This seems to place us in a multi-dimensional complex crisis.
So we look for meaning, and ways out of the perplexing turmoil. We assume that a desire for peace is a common factor in all people everywhere. Peace, in today's world, becomes crucial for survival. The individual is the essential component of peace and the basis on which a peaceful world is built. The sum total of peaceful people make a peaceful world.

Abdul Nacer Benbrika (48) had been receiving Welfare payments from Centrelink for over 19 years while at the same time plotting with other Muslim extremists to blow up the MCG on Grand Final Day in 2005 and kill and maim as many people as possible.
Benbrika ( aka Sheikh Abu Bakr ) was an illegal immigrant in Australia, having arrived in 1989. He was a self styled Muslim Cleric and enjoyed a degree of influence over the younger Muslim community in Melbourne.

Time travelling is actually possible: If you want to know how the culture was one and a half millennium ago on the Arab peninsular, you just need to visit an Islamic country - or a Muslim parallel society in your own country for that matter. They may have cars, cell phones and Nike shoes, but it is all invented and created by non-Muslims, and does not change the essence of the original Muslim culture - which has stayed virtually the same since the time of their much beloved prophet.

Is this the thin edge of the wedge or the crescent shaped blade of Islam hovering over our necks ?? Of course it is !!
One successful tactic that is often used by Islam is to plant a lie ( the bigger the lie the better ) and repeat that lie often enough until the public begins to accept it as Truth.

In the 4 corners program (30/5/11) the presenter noted that the slaughtermen were trained in Australia and the equipment they used came from Australia. How proud are we particularly when Part 2 showed that killing animals without stunning is allowed in some slaughterhouses in Australia AND halal killing using short lasting reversible electrical stunning may be almost as bad!
Part 2 also published Islam’s halal slaughter laws and appended text which clearly shows Islam’s sadism and blood lust. Australia should be like Switzerland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland and BAN slaughter without stunning -though the 'reversible' electrical stunning is also a concern! They survive and so could we by developing a reputation for HUMANE, hygienic meat slaughter which would be welcome worldwide including by non-Muslims in the Islamic world.

Freedom of speech is just a dream in many countries of the world and the OIC is using its muscle at the UN to criminalize criticism of Islam as people wake up to the real and present threat that Islam poses to western democracies. Muslims view the Quran with awe and believe that there exists an exact copy in Heaven written on stone tablets, in Arabic, of course. Writing books that are critical of the Quran can be a dangerous business as Salman Rushdie discovered with his “Satanic Verses”. Even making a film exposing verses from the Quran can prove deadly as Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh found out. The Reliance of the Traveller, the classic book of Islamic law, calls for people who criticise Allah or his prophet to be killed. So what is there to hide in Islam? Why must there be no critiquing of Islam’s Holy book?

Today I am inviting both the Muslim community and the Australian public to seek answers to a number of critical social problems.
What does it mean to be an Australian today ?
Underlying this question is the need to safeguard our open handed efforts to embrace Multi-Culturalism against being hijacked by Extremist Groups who seek to subvert our Australian way of life.

A shrewd politician has many colors. Manipulation of voters for seizing power in democracy is an art. Politicians hunt for votes from various parties, often with conflicting interests. Thus, they need to appease various factions, sounding sweet enough to win the votes. A vote bank is a loyal bloc of voters from a single community, who consistently back a certain candidate or political party in democratic elections. Such behavior is the result of an expectation of real or imagined benefits from that candidate or the party, often at the cost of other communities. Vote bank policy is a divisive politics. It is detrimental to democracy because this brand of politics encourages voters to vote on the basis of narrow communal considerations, often against their better judgment.

The left of centre Catholic broadsheet Eureka Street has allowed some rays of light to shine through the cracks of the ideological walls. An article written by a Pakistani Muslim - Muhammad Izhar ul Haq – points out a few ironies of the Islamic world
First - Muhammad describes a protest in Pakistan:
They were furious. They were chanting slogans. They were swearing to crush the conspiracy being hatched against Islam. They were cursing the Western 'flawed' way of life. The rally was organised to condemn the banning of the burqa (full face veil) in France.

In 2010 Dr Mustafa Ceric, grand mufti of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sanjak, Croatia and Slovenia, speaking at the global Halal congress in Karachi, Pakistan hosted by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that the halal movement can enable Muslims to dominate the global economy (The daily mail – Pakistan 11/12/10). But, who cares right: after all we have already allowed the artificially created sharia finance to over-ride our laws as it powers on with its financial jihad so why not hand over food and the whole global economy as well? Australia has thrown out its moral, ethical animal cruelty laws to allow some abattoirs to slaughter animals without stunning for the halal market. The use of 'reversible' stunning in halal slaughter is also a concern. The live export of animals to Muslim countries known for their sadism to animals eg Indonesia (4 Corners 30/5/11) and Egypt also continues. I am ashamed of this country! I do not want to eat any meat slaughtered according to sharia law or dedicated to the horrifying allah!

From various (not Australian) news outlets we learn that our own Muslim pride and joy Sheikh Taj El-Din Hamid Hilaly was invited by the Iranian Islamist (posing as a secular president of Iran) Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to discuss destruction of the Kuffar in general and Zionist Devil (Israel) in particular.
Ahmadinejad made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with a 45-member Egyptian delegation that attended the Fifth International Imam Khomeini and Foreign Policy Conference, which was held at the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) in Tehran on the same day.

While most politicians and journalists still shrug off the evidence of Islamisation as dog-whistling by “extreme right wing racists” and “islamophobic alarmists”, both blatant and subtle efforts to make Australia more agreeable to Islam continue at a steady pace. In fact no other religious group is more brazen and constantly in the face of Australians; as highly visible and offensive.
Just take their latest ideas for billboards and bus ads in Sydney (1a), spruiking blatant falsehoods to incite religious division (see left and below). But more often it is the more subtle and deceitful tactics for which the following facts may serve as timely reminders.

Muslims do not require halal food at all as they are free to eat anything that isn’t deemed haram yet increasingly ALL our food is ‘halal.’ The Australian population is being ripped off with the compliance of slaughter houses and manufacturers for they now carryout processes which are inspected by a Muslim and a Muslim group issues a halal certification certificate if it complies with sharia --- and YOU pay for this although YOU, the ordinary Australian does NOT require your food production to comply with sharia and YOU do NOT require halal certification. You may want to avoid this rort by avoiding halal food BUT many immoral food manufacturers, while complying with and paying for the Islamic certification system, lack the moral responsibility to inform the public and don’t label their food as halal. Australia is a SECULAR nation and we should not under any circumstances be complying with the insane religious food laws of Islam or allowing sharia to be enforced over us by stealth. How have food producers been coopted as agents of Islamization and pathways to transfer an Islamic religious food tax from unwilling consumers to Islamic groups?

Readers of AIM will recall that there has been an inquiry into multiculturalism in Australia. 379 submissions were made and needless to say I have not read all of them. They have been made available online. Of course the Islamic Council of Victoria has no concerns about Muslims coming here but when I started to read some of the other submissions, I was struck by the number who expressed concerns about the ability of people from an Islamic culture to adapt here. Of course there are predictable exhortations about the need for tolerance and respect. No reasonable person denies that. The difficulty is in understanding the issue in question. The question is - are there some cultures whose worldview demands a deeper assessment from us as to its ability to adapt to a democracy? It is clear that the submission which stated the following has a deficient understanding of the parameters of the debate.

Skipping Girl's submission to the Inquiry Into Multiculturalism
The term ‘multiculturalism’ implies that all cultural or ethnic groups within a society are equal. As this submission will prove, all cultures are not equal and as such, do not deserve to be treated in the same way. Approaching multiculturalism in this limited way promotes apathy, as the general population is dangerously led to believe that all people hold the same values.
The few people who do criticise these groups are labelled racist bigots, effectively preventing free and open discussion before it can begin.
