Be it taking action against black money or realizing the dream of GST, or about demonetisation or giving relief to the common man, in his every decision lay the welfare of our country. Nation will always remember him as this benevolent man who always meant good for the people.

Arun ji left an indelible mark as the Finance Minister of the country during Modi government's first term (2014-19) and made defining efforts in realising PM Modi's vision of prioritising welfare of the poor and to make India as the world's fastest growing economy.

Given his varied experience and unique abilities, Arun ji has served various responsibilities in the Party & government. An exemplary speaker and a dedicated activist, Arun ji held several important portfolios like the Finance Minister, Defense Minister & LoP in the Rajya Sabha.

The lively and joyful nature of Arun ji has always left a lasting impression on every person who ever met him. Today, his demise has created a great void in Indian polity and in the Bharatiya Janata Party which can not be filled easily in the years to come.

I am deeply saddened by the demise of Shri Arun Jaitley ji. His untimely demise is a personal loss for me. I have lost not only a senior leader of the organization but also an integral member of the family, whose support and guidance I have been receiving for years.
