What should happen next: • Quietly revoke Article 50 • Tell Brexiters we left with no deal • Send them blue passport covers • Give them special long queues at airports/ports • Charge them for roaming calls/data • Give them food and medicine ration books • Get on with life

Leaving Twitter for a few days. Need to escape the fucking madness. • Tory leadership contest is fucking madness. • The likely prospect of Johnson becoming PM is fucking madness. • No-deal is fucking madness. • MPs voting against stopping no-deal is fucking madness. 🌻

Dominic Grieve: MP says he'll bring down the government to stop a No Deal Brexit. Not all Labour MPs are decent. Not all Tory MPs are arseholes.

‘Survive’. This isn’t a post-apocalypse scenario we’re talking about here. ‘Survive’ wasn’t on the side of the bus. Thrive and reap rewards was on the side of the bus. What a fucking shambles.

Johnson: “What I want to do now, is do for the whole country what we did in London.” He wasted hundreds of millions of public money, holidayed during biggest riot London had seen for decades, screwed fire service, increased homelessness, took glory for others’ achievements etc.

Half the people in this country are idiots. ‘You shouldn’t call them idiots, Damon!’ OK, half the people in this country aren’t idiots.

This looks like a promotional still from a dreadful ITV comedy about two feuding neighbours "which takes a wry look at our nation's differences" and guest stars Martin Clunes as an arbitrator from the council

Letwin: “This is an issue so important that I believe it transcends party politics, and that I owe to my fellow countrymen to make sure we do not descend into a no-deal exit, without Parliament having had a decisive vote.”

Letwin: “It is because I do not wish to have that on my conscience, that I’ve taken the very uncomfortable step of signing a motion, which has at the head of it the LOTO, whose party I do not follow and with whose policies, in general, I profoundly and radically disagree.”

If MPs don’t vote to prevent no-deal, and we crash out of the EU in October, I think this speech by Oliver Letwin will be remembered as a stark warning, which was ignored by our politicians. “If we don’t put the fuse out now, we won’t be able to disassemble the bomb in Sept/Oct”

Has Bill Cash ever stood up in the Commons without mentioning the 1972 European Communties Act? Every bloody time.
