    CM Shri reviewed the law and order situation in a meeting this evening and decided to completely lift curfew in Guwahati from 6 AM tomorrow. Further, it was also decided to resume broadband internet services in the state from tomorrow morning.

    The situation in the State has improved immensely. We thank the people of Assam for following the spirit of the law. Day curfew has been withdrawn in Guwahati from 0600hrs of December 16. Night curfew would remain from 2100hrs till 0600hrs next day i.e. December 17, 2019.

    Last night, Barpeta Police apprehended five suspected dacoits from Mazdia area under Sarthebari PS alongwith one Eon vehicle & some sharp weapons. They were preparing to commit dacoity.

    In an operation launched in the night of 06/07/2019, 20 gm Heroine and 13 Kg Ganja was recovered from Aminpara area under Rowta PS. Three persons involved in the supply of these drugs arrested.

    "Hailakandi Police continues fight against Illicit drugs." A veteran drug peddler namely Digendra Ray of Bagan Bosti was apprehended today by IC Jamira PP with illicit drugs. A case has been registered in this regard under Ramnathpur PS and investigation is on.

    In one more successful drive, Barpeta Police arrested 3 more vehicle lifters (2 from Bandhali, Tarabari PS area & 1 Belortary, Barpeta PS) and recovered 1 Bolero Pickup which was stolen from Hanhchara, Barpeta PS on 30.11.2019 night.

    In a major success in crime against property, 5 nos of dacoit were arrested by Barpeta Police from Bhaluki under Barpeta Road PS. Recovered & seized 1 laptop, 4 mobile sets & 3 motorcycles from them.

    An incident of molesting and moral policing of a girl & a boy was reported at Krishnai PS on 01-12-19.Consequently Krishnai PS case No 248/19 u/s 354(B)/34 IPC, rw sec 8 POCSO & 67(A) IT Act was registered.Following investigation 6 culprits have been arrested so far.

    Yesterday i.e. (02-12-2019), training was imparted jointly to the Police Officers of Chirang and Bongaigaon District Police on Financial frauds. The Training was organised by Department of Supervision, RBI Guwahati in collaboration with Chirang District Police.
