Once upon a time there was a River called the Mimram. It was "the jewel in Hertfordshire's crown" Then one day, something came along & gobbled up all the water. Leaving behind a murky puddle & a memory. - where are the temporary use bans?

On the River Chess we have an active MP on river matters in , very supportive further down the river we have , as well as the Chess he has the Gade and Colne. Not as supportive but with more time on his hands this might change.

Southern Water permitted to continue extracting water from the Test, despite drought conditions. EA allow river flow to suffer, while extraction maintained. Southern Water extracts 80ML/day from the River Test, and loses 86ML/day in leaks.

That's Terrible Feargal: after all the campaigning and hard work over decades to conserve your bit of river. What is doing? HEY we're in a drought! How about doing something.

This is a question we have posed before, and it remains unanswered. How can the demands of and , along with all the associated development that would inevitably follow, and, of course, the drinking water requirements of , be met?

Sorry to see; history, heritage and water out of the window. And Dame Juliana Berners b1388, the mother of fly fishing, wouldn't be catching any trout in on the historic . She'd be looking out of her Sopwell nunnery to see this...

This is the mouth of Stanstead Millstream bug in 1278 by the Bishop of Waltham. In 740 years it has never dried out until today.

That is truly shocking. At least when there isn’t enough Thames to overtop Teddington Weir there is a fish pass. Not a drought though...

I walked the river yesterday downstream from Ware. Completely still, no flow. Nothing coming over the weir. Can you advise what is going on here

That this is not on the front page of every UK newspaper, and being discussed on TV news bletherfests, speaks volumes about our screwed up relationship with the natural world we so heavily (but blissfully ignorantly) depend on. And should shame us.

2/2 Your River, Your MP should be a thing. The destructive trend hasn't turned yet. Action not words. Every MP must be made aware. If they decide to sit on the fence then so be it but their constituents will know it.
