Dayton shooting is the 250th incident in 2019. Number of mass shootings across the US so far in 2019 has outpaced the number of days this year. This puts 2019 to be the first year since 2016 with an average of more than one mass shooting a day.

Shoppers are not safe at malls. Children are not safe at schools. Students are not safe at colleges. Moviegoers are not safe at movies. Music Fans are not safe at concerts. Churchgoers are not safe at churches. Because the GOP cares more about NRA donations than our safety.

I went to watch a movie. By the time it was over, 9 people were gunned down in Dayton, Ohio. How many more will be dead by the time I have my morning coffee?

It's 2019 and people are STILL refusing to accept that America's lax gun laws and flippant attitudes towards firearms are the fucking problem.

The USA can no longer claim to be one of the world’s most developed nations until gun control laws are introduced. Developed countries protect their citizens. People should have the right to live without fear of being victim to a mad man and mass shooting.

We can stop this, people. This is the greatest country on earth. Mass shootings don’t need to be part of our lives, a horror to grow numb to, a shrug and a thought and a prayer. We can have both a Second Amendment and sensible gun control

I wake up to find out there was a mass shooting less than 10 minutes from my house and less than 5 from my job which is an iconic place in Dayton. I’m scared to go to work today. This is NOT ok......

I was at a talk. I just got out and read about El Paso shooting. Just horrendous. Gilroy was just last week. If your elected official isn't talking about gun control, dump them. We need leaders who care about people and their security more than guns.

The spends $27.5 million PER MONTH to stop all meaningful gun reforms. They spend a staggering $916,000 PER DAY. They are outspending every organization to lobby. As a result - THEY KEEP WINNING. They control the White House, the Senate, most state legislatures.

And also remember that the spent $54 million during the 2016 campaign to prevent even the most basic, common sense gun laws from being enacted.

Walmart is not a gun-free zone. Some customers said they were armed. Yet at least 19 Walmart shoppers were killed, dozens more were injured, and the shooter was taken into custody without being shot.

The wants us to believe only good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns. But when the bad guys have semiautomatic rifles, bulk ammo and a death wish, the only thing that will stop them are stronger gun laws.

I hadn't realized until today that concealed-carry laws can create mayhem during mass shootings in a way that has nothing to do with crossfire: bystanders will report anyone brandishing a gun as a possible shooter—meaning first responders have no idea how many suspects there are.

Ask a first responder if s/he would rather come upon the scene of a mass shooting with twenty possible shooters—giving rise to maybe 40 to 60 divergent descriptions from bystanders—or just one shooter with a generally agreed-upon description, I don't think there'd be much debate.

We are going to hear liberals scream "gun laws now" and "gun reform" and "more gun control" w/o knowing a damn thing about the law. Nor will anyone point out this scumbag broke every law they want(ed) and so does every other shooter. It's not a law problem, it's a people problem

those tweeting are ghoulish and disrespectful. A bad person did a horrible thing. The thing he did -- kill and harm innocents is ILLEGAL. If you think changing laws will stop people who are breaking them already, you're just not smart.

The news out of El Paso is devastating. I'm heartbroken for the victims and their families. Far too many communities have suffered through tragedies like this already. We must act now to end our country's gun violence epidemic.

Oh no. My heart goes out to the families and individuals impacted by the El Paso shooting. We owe them and all Americans common sense gun safety laws. Other societies respond to senseless tragedies - we must do the same. We are better than this.

Sending all of our love and strength to the people of El Paso during this terrible tragedy. Thank you to the brave first responders, putting their lives on the line to prevent more from being killed. We can and must come together to prevent these senseless shootings.

We must outlaw all assault style weapons for civilian use. Even then, there will still be millions of them on the street. Next we need to outlaw the manufacture and sale of the bullets that they carry.

Heartbroken to hear the news from El Paso. Our thoughts are with those impacted by yet another senseless act of gun violence in America. How many lives must be cut short? How many communities must be torn apart? It’s past time we take action and end our gun violence epidemic.

Everyone in America, myself included, is devastated by the news of this latest attack in El Paso. Sadly, after each of these tragedies the Senate does nothing. That has got to change.

My heart breaks for El Paso and those killed and injured by another mass shooting. This can’t keep happening. It just can’t. Every day Congress refuses to act and pass gun laws is a horrible omission of responsibility. This is a tragedy.

Today innocent people—families—went to that mall in El Paso. Some of them never came home. The U.S. House has passed common sense gun safety legislation. It is long past time to pass it in the Senate. The question to ask: Whose side are you on? The NRA’s or the people’s.
