In essence, much has remained unchanged from the requests of the pm, some of the sentences are even worse.
These are the substantial differences / considerations at a glance:
The qualification of the new year charge as attempted murder did not pass, but was downgraded to serious injuries; however this did not result in much difference in sentencing from that requested. The lethality of the device was still accepted. Giova, Ghespe and Paska were sentenced for the new year, while another accused was acquitted of that charge.
The charge of criminal association passed, but 6 (out of 15) of the “associates” were acquitted. 2 comrades were confirmed “heads” of the association, while the accusation against Giova of having become the new “head” following the two’s arrest after the first wave of precautionary measures, was not accepted.

Comrade Christoforos Kortesis has been in prison since the 12th of July … on the charge of “robbery theft” because he attempted to remove stuff worth about 180€ from the Leroy Merlin shopping centre in Athens.
C.K. is an anarchist and has never hidden it. He was convicted by a special court on the charge of participation in the organization “Revolutionary Struggle” and jailed for 4.5 years. One of the many people who stood at his side opposing the State repression is also an anarchist comrade and employee of Leroy Merlin G.A. who stood as a political witness in the trial of C. Kortesis The political and personal relationships of the two comrades are enough for the mechanisms to develop another judge/police prosecution in pursuit of the political extermination of the two.
This kind of case should have been closed simply and directly with the return of the expropriated stuff, but continued with violent holding and police-type psychological war followed by the vengeful arrest of C. Kortesis, his lynching while making him wear a hood and his detention and finally with the prosecution of 7 fighting comrades in total.
We will not allow a new ‘special’ regime to be set up against those who are fighting, we will collectively and actively defend our people, our structures and our struggles, as well as everyone who is being targeted by the violence of the State and capital.

Anarchist Dinos Giagtzoglou was arrested in central Athens on 28 October 2017, one of Greece’s national days, in an ambush by anti-terrorist police forces as he left a safe house-hideout rented by him under a false name, carrying weaponry.
Initially he got imprisoned in the prison of Larissa, a city 355 km from Athens, with the aim of isolating him from his comrades, family and friends, making the talks with the lawyer extremely difficult and preparing for his trial almost impossible since the case files contain thousands of pages in digital format.
On 21 February 2018, he was transferred back to Athens for a pending trial about an old arrest in clashes with the riot police in the context of a general strike against the Greek government’s austerity economic measures in May 2011. After the postponement of this trial he began a hunger strike demanding to be typically transferred to Korydallos prison, close to his place of residence.
In the dawn of 24 February, as he was temporarily in Korydallos prison for this trial and conducting a hunger strike, a group of prison guards along with police special forces clenched the bedridden comrade for the strike to transfer him again to the Larissa prison. As an immediate response, an upheaval broke out among the other prisoners with the occupation of almostall the sections of the prison, the representative of the Ministry of Justice asked for a meeting, for the immediate return of Dinos to the Korydallos prison. The protests are spread in the prisons of Malandrino and Chania and a representative of the Ministry of Justice meets the representatives of the prisoners ofthe Korydallos prison.
From Larissa on February 25th Dinos declares the beginning of the thirst strike as a reaction to this unprecedented “abduction” and an escalation of his struggle. He obtained the transfer on2 March thanks also to the support of a broad and varied solidarity context: demonstrations, solidaritybanners, interventions, occupations, barricades and incendiary attacks lit hearts and nights.
Dinos is accused of terrorist organization, with the well-known counter-insurgency article 187A, of having sent several letter bombs to EU officials, economic organizations and Credit Rating Agencies throughout Europe in Spring 2017, including a booby-trapped folder to Lucas Papademos, former Greek Prime Minister, former governor of the Bank of Greece and former vice president of the European Central Bank, who had been seriously injured by the explosion of the package and for this reason Dinos is also accused of attempted murder.
The first trial for the possession and transport of weapons and explosives will begin on 20September 2019.
For the second process the investigations are still open while the French authorities have already visited Athens investigating the explosion in the office of IMF in Paris.
Dinos rejects the accusations of being the author of attacks or a member of “terrorist” organization and declares that both the rent of the apartment and the transfer of material were part of his revolutionary solidarity with a persecuted comrade.

Support an anarchist who was sentenced in so-called Germany. This person was captured by a civilian security guard in a shopping mall while nonviolently expropriating some goods. Without noticing he has a small pocket knife on him which he didn’t want to use as weapon. Even though he was accused of: A theft with a weapon prepared to use.
The German court imposed punishment of 90 days in prison or paying 1000 Euro. That means if he doesn’t pay those money he will have to spend three months in prison. The Czech ABC group decided to support him with organising a money collection. This morning,20/7/2019 the cops of the LKA 521 unit under the command of Kranich raided Liebig34. Unusual was the saturday, unusual the mix of units from different departments. New were a few civil cop faces, not new: the repression.
The reason for this raid was probably stones thrown from the house during the last few weeks. After the cops collected stones from the Dorfplatz around 2:30 this morning, they obtained a court order and search warrant to search part of our house and returned around 6:30 a.m.. They came through the backyard and the front door, sawed the doors and barris, picked them up and thus forcibly gained access to our project. A lawyer was quickly on the scene and was able to observe and testify. Altogether the cops were about three hours in the house, having searched officially and intensively three connected rooms and the attic.
They also snooped around in unlocked private rooms, tore posters from the walls, knocked over furniture, cut internet cables and destroyed windows. During the search, they extensively documented the interior and structure of our house. In the officially searched part of the house they collected plenty of DNA and fingerprints from everyday objects. They also confiscated some items from these rooms, such as cigarette butts, stones, deposit bottles, internet switches, wall paint and clothes. I have now been in custody for sixteen months. October 18th will be twenty months. As I wrote to you on May 23, 2019, the court in the Florence council chamber was to decide whether I was to be tried in an ordinary court or in the Court of Assize.
They also had to decide whether to try me in Florence or Lucca, so they decided that I would have to be tried by the Court of Assise in Lucca, setting the date for October 18, 2019.
In addition, investigations into the fire offense at the Lucca Post Office in 2017 were closed: they set the hearing for January 2020.
The only contesting article in this regard is the art. 424C.P. because it states “for the sole purpose of damaging” the offices of the Italian Post Office. The lawyer was sure that they would have challenged me with the art. 280bis., for it being a state place: it can also happen that when the trial takes place the Public Prosecutor can still request it.

The week of final hearings of the “Panico” trial ended today. On Monday 15th and half of Tuesday 16th the final part of the trial phase took place; on the prosecution side, the treatment of the last tranche of expert interceptions of wiretapping, environmental and by telephone; by the defense, some objections have been raised regarding the interference of the prosecution expert in the court expert’s activities (that is: the main interception with which they accused Paska was first transcribed differently from the court expert, then corrected after prosecution pressures to bring it back to the “original”). Then a defense witness was heard about the broken foot of Ghespe in the period around 2017 New Year.
On Tuesday afternoon there was the indictment of the prosecutors and of the civil parties, and these are quite useless to comment on, they have given the worst of themselves. The requests for the 28 defendants were rather high, as was expected. The heads of indictment for each remained unchanged with respect to the closure of the investigation.
