Shocking drone footage shows the extent of the flooding already unleashed on Louisiana's coastal communities by Tropical Storm Barry as wind and rain began battering parts of the state on Friday. Homes and roads can be seen submerged by the incoming storm surge in the town of Grand Isle, which lies on a narrow barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico and is one of the parishes ordered to evacuate. It's only one of the low-lying areas in coastal Louisiana the National Weather Service warned on Friday are already covered in water. Pockets of the state could get as much as 25 inches of rain causing dangerous flash flooding and pooling. The New Orleans area could get 10 to 15 inches through Sunday, testing the post-Katrina pumping system.

A press conference addressing the new federal charges filed against R Kelly on Friday morning turned into a tense stand-off between the parents of the singer's girlfriend and his crisis manager. It all happened after Jocelyn Savage's father Tim cut off Darrell Johnson as he spoke to reporters, and loudly asked: 'Where's my daughter at? Where's she at? Answer that question!' Johnson refused to answer the question, and instead told the grief-stricken family: 'I'm a crisis manager. I am not a babysitter.' Kelly was arrested on Thursday night in Chicago after federal prosecutors filed a 13-count indictment which alleges that the singer filmed himself raping underage girls and committed a number of other sex crimes over the past 20 years.

Reporter Larrison Campbell, 40, (right), asked to ride with Republican state Representative Robert Foster, 36, (left), on a 15-hour campaign trip but was told by his staff on July 7 that a male colleague would have to accompany her.Campbell covers politics with the online news site Mississippi Today , saying she was told 'the optics of the candidate with a woman, even a working reporter, could be used in a smear campaign to insinuate an extramarital affair.'Foster and Campbell went head to head on the matter in an interview with CNN's John Berman on New Day , where Foster claimed that being alone with a woman would go against his Christian values.Foster said: 'I didn't want to end up in a situation where me and Ms. Campbell were alone for an extended period of time throughout that 15- or 16-hour day, and so out of precaution, I wanted to have her bring someone with her -- a male colleague.' Foster claimed he made a vow to his wife Heather, (inset), to never be alone with a woman.

A 17-year-old girl who lost her leg and two fingers in a horror shark attack last month said she 'cannot change' what happened to her but is remaining positive about the future.Paige Winter, (main), is recovering at home after leaving hospital in Greenville, North Carolina, where she had her leg amputated and had to undergo multiple surgeries to repair her hands following the June 2 attack.She gave an update on her condition in an interview with Good Morning America , saying she is solely focused on her recovery and maintaining a positive attitude since the June 2 attack.The inspirational teen revealed: ' I cannot change that I don't have a leg, I can't change that I cannot use my hands right now.'I can control what happens in the future, I can do that and that's what I want to do.'Footage showed the teen with her family and friends at home. She was aided by a walker with a prosthetic leg fitted and there were bandages wrapped around both of her hands.She also drew a cartoon image of herself with a shark beside her to mark the one month anniversary of the terrifying attack.

A pregnant mother and her son were caught in flash flooding in Douglass Township, Pennsylvania on Thursday. Pam Vera Snyder, 31, and her nine-year-old son Preston, seen left, were later found dead. Their car was washed away after rescue crews were unable to reach the pair. Snyder was seven months pregnant and getting married in September. Rescue crews were on the scene shortly after the emergency call came through, top right, but it was too late to save the pair. The flooding came as severe storms hit the region and it's believed the car the pair were travelling in got stuck under a bridge as the water levels rose, right.

The bullet passed through her headrest and missed Logan sitting in his car seat behind her by a matter of inches. Audra and Jeff Johnson got married on the Fourth of July to celebrate America. The couple held their wedding in Kalamazoo around a MAGA theme and their love for President Donald Trump. During the wedding, Audra, 33, walked down the aisle in a standard white wedding dress to meet her Marine fiance, 35. She then changed into a dress made out of a MAGA flag and posed with a gun. Dale Williams, 62, was awaiting sentencing in Youngstown, Ohio for the murder of 46-year-old Elizabeth Pledger-Stewart when the deceased woman's children launched their attack. Just as the victim's daughter was about to make a victim impact statement before the court, her brother lunged at Williams and was quickly followed by a second brother who had to be tased by deputies.

An airline traveller has shamed a fellow passenger for 'rudely' hanging her blonde hair over the back of her seat and blocking the entire screen. Australian man David shared a picture of a female passenger with her hair flicked back over the headrest while watching her an in-flight movie in front of her. After the image emerged via a popular travelling Facebook group, many were furious by the woman's 'incredibly selfish' behaviour - but not everyone agrees.

Underwater photographer, Jake Wilton (pictured top-left), was diving with British TV broadcaster and marine biologist, Monty Hall, on Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia when the manta ray approached them. The three-metre-wide gentle giant flipped her body over to show them the hooks as if she knew that without the diver's help, she would be in danger. After several attempts, Jake was able to successfully remove the hooks from underneath Freckles.

Police are investigating after Igors Rausis, who has represented Latvia, Bangladesh and the Czech Republic, was caught 'red-handed' in France, the game's governing body Fide said (Rausis is pictured inset; main image shows the offending photo). Phones are banned at chess tournaments because of chess software that can be used to suggest winning moves. Dramatic footage shows the moment U.S Coast Guards jumped on to a moving submarine in the Pacific ocean which was operated by drug traffickers carrying cocaine.Trump tweeted: 'Do you believe this kind of bravery? Amazing drug seizure'. The semi-submersible pounded through deep Pacific waters filled with thousands of pounds of cocaine.It was ultimately bound for the United States, as the vessel had been tracked by a Coast Guard surveillance aircraft.Video shows U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro members intercept the submarine-type vessel.Footage shows another boat approach the submersible with crew members on board shouting as they edge closer to it.VP Mike Pence was there as the drugs were unloaded in San Diego on Thursday.

Physicists led by the Russian Academy of Sciences tested a scanning technique called muon tomography on the structure, which is located in the Russian fortress of Naryn-Kala, in Derbent. The mysterious half-buried structure was long argued to be a water tank.

A massive landslide hit a county in south-west China yesterday, blocking roads and causing a dam to collapse. Terrifying footage of the incident in Ebian Yi Autonomous County in Sichuan province shows an enormous amount of rock and debris tumbling down a mountainside and slamming onto a road. Several people nearby are seen fleeing for their lives as trees and boulders are sent crashing into the river next to the slope. Several small huts next to the road are buried. Luckily no one was hurt.

A chimpanzee caused chaos at a zoo in east China today after escaping its enclosure using a bamboo tree, startling visitors and staff. The 12-year-old male chimp, named Yang Yang, was spotted running on a path and sitting on a roof of a low-rise building after the breakout at 9am local time at the Hefei Wildlife Park in Anhui province. The clever chimp made a bid of freedom by climbing up a fallen bamboo tree following a downpour in the city, according to Chinese reports citing zoo employees. Police were immediately alerted to the scene and all visitors were evacuated. After failing to persuade the ape to return to its enclosure in a two-hour standoff, officers fired a single tranquiliser dart and put it to sleep before transferring it back in a cage. No one was hurt in the incident.
