Nhar - Girls From The Shores (2017)

"Synthetic Insight" is the title of Nhar's new release and "Girls From the Shores" is just one of the six great tracks you can hear on this EP.
Nhar's music combines ambient/techno elements with dark melancholic melodies.
An amazing mixture that you'll surely love, specially if you're into names such as Umwelt, John Tejada or Fairmont.
Hope you like it!

The Divine Comedy - To the Rescue (2016)

Anyone that has been around mUsistenZ for some time knows how deeply I admire Mr. Hannon's work, specially if we're talking about The Divine Comedy.
Unfortunately, I'm drowning in sorrow as I write these words and admit this sad, sad true, The Divine Comedy's "Foreverland" is too bad to be real.
I know that everyone's career has its ups and downs, but this one really shocks me. It was the first time, in 25 years,  that I didn't buy an album of The Divine Comedy.
I have a big request for Mr. Hannon: make The Divine Comedy great again! Please!!!
However, among a tremendous dose of pure banality, we can find a beautiful, gorgeous and amazing song called "To the Rescue".
It has that kind of magic melody, arrangements and poetry that made The Divine Comedy such a reference for me.
Hope you like it!

Moon Duo - Cold Fear (2017)

"Occult Architecture Vol. 1" is the title of the new album from Moon Duo and it will be out on February 3rd.
Another Sacred Bones Records release and another great band that I love.
I first listened to Moon Duo on a tribute to Hawkwind and I felt in love with the band immediately.
Then I saw them live at the Serralves em Festa festival, in 2011, and... wow, what a gig!!!
The group founded by Ripley Johnson (also from the Wooden Shjips) and Sanae Yamada is back again with a new video.
Now let me tell you one thing: the new album will be another gem for sure!
Hope you like it!

Blanck Mass - Please (2017)

Blanck Mass is the solo project of Benjamin John Power, from the Fuck Buttons.
Blanck Mass new album, "World Eater", will be out on March 3rd through Sacred Bones Records.
On its press release we can read that «the record is a reaction to the human race consuming itself. There is an underlying violence and anger throughout the record».
"Please" is the album's first single.
Well done, Mr. Power, I love your work.
Hope you'll like it too!

New Canyons - Never Found (2017)

Hey guys, here I am back in business (once again)!
It has happened so many things since my last post in 2013.
Too many to mention, I might say :)
I've decided to get back in action along with another return: the New Canyons are here again!
This is the first single from their new album to be released soon.
Hope you like it!

Trembling Blue Stars - It's Easier to Smile [Slow Soft Sighs] (2002)

It's been a while since I've heard this for the first time.
An amazing tune that goes very well with the summer season.
This track was originally released as a part of the CD single «Slow Soft Sighs» and it was later included in the compilation «A Certain Evening Light».
Hope you like it!

Smith Westerns - Soft Will (2013)

Smith Westerns' «Soft Will» is out on the market since june 24th, last monday. I must tell you that, in my humble opinion, «Soft Will» may be one of the best records this year. Really good music, full of wonderful Pop tunes, nicelly composed and arranged. Listening to this album kinda reminds me some sort of fusion between George Harrison, David Bowie, Ray Davies and The Flaming Lips. There's even one Pink Floyd-esque instrumental track called «XXIII» that is simply amazing. Hope you like it!

New Canyons - Everyone Is Dark (2013)

Well, this is just too perfect.
Kinda reminds me some sort of 80's music we used to call «the perfect pop»!
I hear shades of the Associates & Billy Mackenzie, I hear a little bit o Gary Numan, Thomas Dolby, Electronic and there are even some ambiences reminiscent of Talk Talk and The Blue Nile.
What more can I say... just listen to it!

The Asteroid # 4 - Windmill of the Autumn Sky (2013)

Here's the title track from The Asteroid # 4 new record.
It's the band's first release on Dock Ellis Records and it's simply beautiful.
This track is really amazing.
Hope you like it!

Reinhold Heil & Johnny Klimek - One Hour Photo Soundtrack (2002)

I think this is the best original soundtrack by the duet Reinhold Heil & Johnny Klimek.
They've been making film music together since the late 90's and their work includes soundtracks for movies such as «Run Lola, Run», «Winter Sleepers», «Land of the Dead» or «The Cave»
But this one... this one's special. This one's really something.
For the start, Mark Romanek's «One Hour Photo» is a great psychological thriller/drama and Heil & Klimek music just put us in the right mood here.
Simply amazing!

The Besnard Lakes - People of the Sticks [Until In Excess, Imperceptible UFO] (2013)

Excellent indie/dream pop track by these Montreal fellows.
The album will be released next month.

Jacco Gardner - Clear The Air [Cabinet of Curiosities] (2013)

If you're into retro 60's kinda stuff, here is a great song from the dutch musician Jacco Gardner's debut album «Cabinet of Curiosities».
Hope you like it!

Andy Citawarman - No Rewards No Regrets (2012)

Really great dark electronics with an amazing ambience created by former Snowman member Andy Citawarman.
Snowman's "Absence" is still available here on mUsistenZ, I suppose.
It was one of my 2011 favourites.
