STEVE & ED - "Dream Song" (Rare 1975 US Psych Folk masterpiece)

A surprisingly good folk-pop lp on the vanity label Century that I picked up recently due to my "leave no stock cover behind" compulsion. The notes say it was recorded in a Los Angeles area church, and it has a sort of cavernous low-fi sound quality that I quite enjoy. Very soothing Simon & Garfunkel-esque harmonies on most tracks, with sparse, acoustic heavy arrangements. Recorded in 1975, but tracks like "I Love The Rain" could easily pass for late 60′s to my ears. The majestic, spoken title track is nice as well. (from waxidermy)

Very great 1975 private pressed LP from Steve Hicks and Ed Rosiek.
A top fave of mine !

JED (aka Jed O'Connor aka Jed Silverstar) - "Merlin's Song" (Very rare 1982 US Psyche Folk masterpiece)

"Mystical, medieval folk songs played and sung very convincingly. And unlike some in the genre, I'm under the suspicion that the psych aspect is unintentional, but rather a natural setting for the songs that were written. This was recorded as some kind of educational project for a Florida based program specializing in all things from the Arthurian period. As far as the music, it's beautiful minor key folk with intricately woven male and female vocals. Fans of bands like Stone Angel, etc. would do well to track this down. Makes you want to dance with the jester".

Another of my top ten "desert island" LPs.

JILL CISLAGHI - "Friends of Mine" (Very rare 1977 US masterpiece)

One of my top ten US private pressed LPs.
Jill Cislaghi wrote and recorded her only album in her senior year in 1977 at Regis College, in Massachusetts near where she grew up.
Cislaghi pressed 500 copies on Massachusetts' own vanity custom-pressing plant Fleetwood Recording Co. She made this record for her friends and wound up selling nearly every copy at her college, so this LP is incredibly hard to come by now.

JAMES LEE MEADOWS - "James Lee Meadows" (1972 US Private Folk Psych LP)

Eponymous lp by James Lee Meadows, released on St. George International in the U.S. in 1972.
Rare and great hippie folk psych and folk rock issued on New England custom label.
Surprisingly professional sound, with some Dylan-esque angles.
Very scarce - as with most custom labels, likely only a few hundred of these were pressed.

Record: VG++
Cover : VG+
Price : 180,00 Euros ( + the expedition costs calculated by the Belgian Post office)
