We are grassroots activists, environmentalists, advocates for social justice, nonviolent resisters and regular citizens who’ve had enough of corporate-dominated politics. Government must be part of the solution, but when it’s controlled by the 1%, it’s part of the problem. The longer we wait for change, the harder it gets. Don’t stay home on election day. Vote Green.

Everything we do is based on our four pillars:

Our country's long wars and worldwide military presence are immoral and unsustainable. Our military budget must be cut dramatically.

The human cost of climate change is too high. We need to get off fossil fuels and on to renewable energy.

Falling wages and rising bills are hitting most of us, and the most vulnerable are hit the hardest. We demand a living wage and a real safety net.

We demand public financing of elections, open debates, and more representative voting systems.

...and our ten key values

Supreme Court Majority says they can’t fix gerrymandering; Greens say the people can

The Green Party (GPUS) opposes yesterday's 5-4 Supreme Court decision in Rucho v. Common Cause, in which the majority opinion ruled that partisan gerrymandering presents issues "beyond the reach of the federal courts." Instead of getting mired in the back-and-forth politics of gerrymandering, the GPUS calls for a system of true voter representation--a proportional voting system that virtually eliminates the possibility of gerrymandering instead of countering its effects on one party or another. "The Supreme Court ruling was unquestionably shameful in its reasoning," said Tony Ndege, Green Party. Co-chair of the Green Party of North Carolina. "Gerrymandering is fundamental to a two-party, winner-take-all system that favors the parties of the rich. That system itself is anti-democratic because the major parties use it to take voters for granted with no intent to represent them in government, all the while paying fealty to their corporate bosses."

Green Party demands the United States follow the U.N. protocol regarding the humanitarian treatment of migrants; asserts that humanitarian assistance to migrants is not a crime

The Green Party of the United States, expressing outrage over deplorable and inhumane conditions in migrant camps, demands the U.S. government follow U.N. protocols regarding the humanitarian treatment of migrants and refugees, and further condemns the criminalization of humanitarian assistance to migrants. Green leaders are especially dismayed over reports of inhumane conditions in which children are being held. Children seeking refuge are being separated from their families, placed into concentration camps and denied basic supplies.  Horrific conditions have led to the deaths of at least six children since the beginning of this year. Children are suffering due to inadequate food, water and sanitation and extreme temperatures in conditions described by one physician as “torture facilities.”  John Sanders, acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said today that he will resign on July 5.

Green Leaders Call For Restraint And Peaceful Resolution To Escalating Tension In Iran

The Green Party is calling for a peaceful resolution to tensions with Iran as a series of recent events has unfolded into an escalating crisis between the two countries. A June 13th attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman has been blamed on Iran by the U.S., as well as allies and critics. On June 19th, Iranian forces downed an unarmed U.S. Navy RQ-4 Global Hawk spy drone over the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that it had traveled into Iranian air space.

Stop the U.S. drive to war against Iran!

HIGH SPRINGS, Fl. – The Green Party of Florida condemns the warmongering being drummed up by the U.S. government against the government and people of Iran, and the insane drive to conflagration in the Middle East. Donald Trump and his inner circle — which includes Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton —claim that Iran attacked "Japanese-related" shipping while Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was meeting in Tehran with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. The incident derailed any attempt to defuse tensions between the U.S. and Iran following the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal and the escalation of economic sanctions against Iran and anyone doing business with the Islamic Republic.

Green Party Ballot Access Restored in Texas!

HOUSTON, Tx. – Thanks to the passage of HB 2504, the threshold for retaining ballot access in Texas has been lowered, qualifying the Green Party of Texas (GPTX) for the ballot at least through 2026. This is great news for all of us who have fought for years to push ideas like the Green New Deal into the public debate. In fact, every major social advancement in US history has been championed by alternative parties, from the abolition of slavery to women's suffrage, from social security and medicare to marijuana decriminalization and today's push for the Green New Deal.

TUCSON, Az., June 14, 2019 — On Wednesday the Green Party of Pima County (GPPC) filed a lawsuit against the City of Tucson for depriving the party of ballot status in the upcoming elections on November 5, 2019. The Green Party is legally entitled to representation in the 2019 election but has been left off the roles and will not be on the ballot if the City has its way. The City of Tucson has attempted to unlawfully suppress the voice of the Green Party of Pima County and deprive 262,000 registered voters in Tucson from hearing and voting for Green Party solutions to the political and economic challenges facing our community.

PA Green Party Says, “Shut Down Berks Detention Center, NOW !”

The Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) Steering Committee has urged the closing of the Family Detention Center in Berks County, PA, where immigrants have been imprisoned for the last five years. To accomplish this closing, GPPA has joined the PA Immigration and Citizenship Coalition."The Green Party will break the deadlock created by the two corporate parties," said GPPA Co-chair Sheri Miller from Adams County. "Undocumented immigrants and their families, who are residing in the U.S., should be granted legal status with a chance to become U.S. citizens. All citizens of Canada and Mexico should have permanent border passes, and immigration for work should be decriminalized.

Green Party: Arrest and Conviction of Green Party activist, Cheri Honkala, is an attack on 1st Amendment rights

Greens Deplore Conviction of Cheri Honkala as attack on First Amendment rights Green Party leaders responded to yesterday's ruling in the case of United States vs. Honkala with strong words of condemnation for government officials involved and strong support for Honkala. On June 10, 2019, a federal court in Washington, D.C., issued a guilty verdict in the case, finding former Green Party Vice Presidential candidate Cheri Honkala guilty of charges of trespassing. Why I'm Green

When it comes to the interests of Latinx and other people of color, Greens have the best platform in American politics. State by state, Greens are advocating fairness, economic justice, and respect—for all Americans. In recent years many Black and Latinx activists have left Democratic or independent politics, to become Green candidates and party leaders. In my home state of Rhode Island, Greens are active in grassroots movements to end racial profiling and police brutality, protect immigrants' rights, end deportations, and achieve a path to citizenship.

I'm Green because from what I can see, the world's only real chance to survive, is through politics grounded in Ecology, Equality, Democracy, and Peace—in other words, Green politics. The mainstream parties are both controlled by big business, and can't help us now. In fact, they're working together against us. Isn't it time you joined the Greens?

I'm Green because I can't take the lies and the conditions anymore. Homelessness while there are empty houses, prisons built while schools close, children being shot down on our streets by police, mothers losing their children to the state because they don't have water in their homes and can't afford the water bill. My friends and family cant afford to wait anymore to try and change the Democratic Party.

People who can wait are not familiar with our reality. The one party system is killing our people and it's high time we stand up and say something, and more importantly, change it. It can't change unless we break with the corporations' money and that's exactly what the Green Party is doing. It stands up to dirty money and puts forward the vision of the world we want to live in. We can't wait any more. Building our party now will help to ensure a future for all of our children and generations to come.

I joined the Green Party because it is a party of, by, and for the people. It is staffed by volunteers and regular folks from all walks of life. It is funded entirely by average people giving small donations. It fights for universal healthcare, a Green New Deal, free higher education and other progressive policies that our country desperately needs. The Green Party is a party I can trust to take my concerns seriously and to follow through on its promises.

You may not know this from mainstream media coverage, but the Green Party is overwhelmingly popular among us Millennials. 71% of Millennials think we need a third party, and not just any third party will do.
