This paper from 1993 speaks to a brief moment in the trajectory of the South African Communist Party, which was soon lost, in which the transition to socialism was reimagined in bottom up and democratic terms. It is now being read again, in the context of an upsurge in authoritarian and millenarian forms of radical nationalism. The paper is by Stephen Louw and Peter Hudson.
