Coal Burning Point USA:
The Fast Times & Short Career of Ashley St. Clair

2,829 words

Everyone loves a good social media implosion.

A good implosion is, among other things, a comeuppance: one where the mask falls at last and a hotsy totsy e-celeb is exposed to be every bit the no-good son of a bitch that you always kinda knew he was, but now everyone knows. His status as a no-good son-of-a-bitch becomes a matter of public record and public knowledge. Read more …

Middle America Discovers It’s Been Had

1,883 words

The Tillman Story (2010)
Directed by Amir Bar-Lev

Pat Tillman of the 75th Ranger Regiment was killed in action on April 22, 2004 in Afghanistan. In the grand scheme of things, Tillman’s death was not all that remarkable. America was engaged in two wars at the time, and soldiers, especially those in especially dangerous jobs like the Combat Engineers or the Rangers, were being killed every day. Read more …

Woke Capital’s Free Option

Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube, a definite woke capitalist.

1,585 words

As many of you already know, YouTube has recently embarked on a campaign to purge dissident voices from its platform. As expected, the Dissident Right was the hardest hit, with such luminaries as Dr. Patrick Slattery and my fellow contributor here at Counter-Currents, Jared George, losing their channels outright. Many others have had their videos removed or demonetized. It’s all anyone’s been able to talk about on YouTube, and it is a cause for concern. YouTube gives our movement a link directly to Generation Z’s hindbrain. Read more …

Majority Estate Planning

2,560 words

holbein_erasmus_1523_louvreEditor’s Note:

Please consider a bequest to Counter-Currents in your will. Your simple provision today could sustain our work far into the future. The wording can be quite simple: “I hereby bequeath $___ to Counter-Currents Publishing, PO Box 22638, San Francisco, CA 94122.” Or: “I hereby bequeath the remainder of my estate, free of all death taxes, creditors’ claims and expenses of administration of my estate, to . . .”  Read more …

Spengler on Unfruitfulness

754 words

Perhaps Oswald Spengler’s greatest contribution to the philosophy of history is his removal of history from the mechanistic realm of cause and effect and placing it instead within the sphere of biology. Human societies are, after all, composed of living human beings, and so it is only logical that cultures and civilizations are themselves subject to biological, rather than mechanical, laws. Orwell, Molotov, & the “Crisis of Capitalism”

O’Brien (Richard Burton) demonstrates that 2 + 2 doesn’t always equal 4.

2,306 words

Did the international crises of 1947 and 1948 leave their mark on the writing of Nineteen Eighty-Four? I’ve spent a lot of time on this question, and so far as I can tell, the answer is – yes; but only obliquely. And George Orwell may not even have been conscious of the fact.

Feminism, End & Beginning

614 words

It is superficial thought that causes some to call themselves feminist or anti-feminist. The usual definitions of feminism, from womyn’s empowerment to sexual egalitarianism, serve to curtail thought – therefore we shall not define feminism here. Instead, we will look at synchronicities, to help us better understand our time and place.

Hungary: Illiberal Democracy in Action

6,981 words

The following is the text of the talk that Counter-Currents editor John Morgan delivered at the American Renaissance conference on May 18, 2019. It is reprinted from the American Renaissance site. The video is included as well.

It’s great to be back here. It’s the first time I’ve been at AmRen since 2014, and of course the world has changed a lot since then. This is why I think it’s timely that I talk about what’s happening in Hungary today, since I spoke about that in 2014 as well, but at that time, Europe’s migrant crisis was nothing more than a twinkle in George Soros’ eye. Happy Birthday to Us!

1,175 words

It was nine years ago today that the Counter-Currents website went online. I can’t count the number of writers, YouTubers, podcasters, websites, and entire movements that have come and gone in our ideological sphere in the last nine years. The attrition is understandable. Deplatforming, demonetization, and demoralization take their toll. But Counter-Currents is still here, and we are not going anywhere.

In Year Nine, we published online 791 articles and reviews and more than 6,000 comments. Read more …

The Greatest Anti-Immigration Film of All Time: Brightburn

1,024 words

The best propaganda approaches its subject in an oblique manner. The most effective way to present a message is to insinuate it within the context of a seemingly unrelated narrative. This is a common practice of the Left, and is one that is seldom used by the Right; or when it is used, is generally done so in a clumsy and/or laughable manner. Think Dinesh D’Souza or the Left Behind movies which are so beloved by fundamentalists. Read more …

There Has Never Been a Better Time to Be Alive
The Ultimate White Pill

4,358 words

My friends on the Right bemoan the fact that we’re not living in Leave It To Beaver. They play the “what era would you like to live in?” game, picking any time other than this one. Because this is the End Time, you see; the Kali Yuga, the Wolf Age. Hell, yes! It is all those things and more. But I, for one, feel privileged to live in Dystopia. Truly, there has never been a better time to be alive. Read more …

Bulba the Aryan Aristocrat

2,485 words

Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol’s Taras Bulba is one of the defining works of Russian literature. Indeed, it is often said that without Pushkin and Gogol, there would have been no Russian literature, only books written by Russians. Taras Bulba is a window deep into the grandeur and sorrow of the tempest which is the Russian soul, and more specifically, the soul of the men who inhabit the lands of the Rus which have been called Ukraine, or Little Russia. Spengler on Fate

902 words

Oswald Spengler (1880–1936) is one of the thinkers most admired by the Dissident Right, yet it is obvious that this admiration largely stems from Spengler’s portrayal of Western civilization as being “Faustian” in nature, that Western man (i.e., the white man) is a seeker of the infinite, which can be expressed by analytical mathematics, instrumental polyphony, perspective painting, etc. Read more …

A curious debate erupted within American conservatism last week.

New York Post opinion editor Sohrab Ahmari took aim at Conservative Inc. foolishness, which he dubs “David French-ism,” in a First Things essay. Ahmari, a Persian Catholic convert, argues French-ism makes conservative Christians surrender to the awe-inspiring power of secular liberalism. Read more …
