Thank you for your interest in submitting to Informed Comment.
Whether you are a reporter, academic, photographer, or video producer, Informed Comment a good site at which to have one’s work seen and distributed. Readership is hard to estimate because email forwarding and mirroring cannot easily be measured, but the site gets millions of page views each year. The site is well read in policy circles and among foreign policy and area studies thinkers.
We are especially interested in reporters or academics with original information or interviews on Middle Eastern and South Asian politics and US foreign policy, and in reporters or academics writing about religion, human rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, and religious discrimination, and energy and climate change. We seek out topical, original opinion pieces that make a single point and run 800-1000 words. Submitters should provide a short bio indicating previous publications and qualifications. We are currently able to pay an honorarium of $100 (via Paypal).
Publishers who would like to have an entry mirrored at Informed Comment are welcome to inquire, and would receive a link back and credit.
Likewise, IC has had success in bringing books to the attention of readers by offering authors the opportunity to write an op-ed on some burning issue in the day’s headlines that is related to the book. If you are a publisher or author looking to publicize a recent title, please submit via the form below. Please note, however, that we are not looking for book summaries or synopses, but rather, an original opinion piece.
