Launch of New Website Designed as USC’s First Centralized Online Platform for Veterans
For more than a century, USC has supported U.S. veterans and military communities. But have you ever wondered about the history of this enduring friendship or maybe you simply want to find out about USC’s latest military programs or resources?
Well, then USC has launched a new website just for you!
The site is USC’s first centralized online platform for all things veteran related and it can be found at https://military.usc.edu.

USC biologist Steve Kay elected to the Royal Society of London
Fellows of the Royal Society of London have included Sir Isaac Newton, Sir Charles Darwin, and Stephen Hawking. This week, a new name has been added to that exclusive list: USC professor and scientist Steve A. Kay, Provost Professor of Neurology and Biomedical Engineering and Biological Sciences, and director of the USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience and the MESH Academy.
“We are thrilled that Dr. Kay is receiving this prestigious honor,” said USC Provost Michael W. Quick. “This is a remarkable recognition of his groundbreaking research and dedication to his field that is making a transformative impact on healthcare. It is a tremendous honor for him and for our university as a whole.”
The Royal Society of London is a fellowship of the world’s most distinguished scientists that was founded in 1660. Every year the Royal Society elects up to 52 new fellows. About 1,600 fellows and foreign members hold this distinguished title. Click here to read more.

$50 Million Provost Initiative on Fostering Our Diverse Community
In his November 1, 2018 memo, Provost Quick outlined important new steps in USC’s ongoing efforts to foster diversity in our academic community. The first of these new initiatives is an ambitious joint program in which the Office of the Provost, working with the schools, will allocate a total of $50 million in new funds to match funding that schools employ towards the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
