Abby Ohlheiser

 Abby Ohlheiser covers digital culture for The Washington Post. She runs the Intersect blog, where she writes regularly on how the culture of the Internet has become an inseparable part of our lives. She first joined The Post in 2014 as a general assignment reporter, writing regularly about national breaking news and religion. She was one of The Post's lead reporters for Pope Francis's 2015 visit to the United States. 

Since becoming a digital culture reporter, she has written about a wide range of topics, including the lives of online celebrities, how hoaxes spread across Facebook and Twitter, the nature of online vigilante justice and the ecosystem of Trump supporters on the Internet. Before joining The Post, Ohlheiser was a staff writer at the Atlantic Wire and a regular contributor to Slate's breaking news blog.
