On August 18th the Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) organised its founding convention at Hill Top hall in Rawlakot, Kashmir. More than 450 students participated and the revolutionary spirit ran high. More than 100 students had come from cities across Pakistan to attend this historic beginning, while other participants were students from various educational institutes of Pakistani-occupied Kashmir.

Today, December 3, the comrades of Lal Salaam, the IMT in Pakistan, gathered for their first congress since the split in The Struggle group. On the first day of congress around 260 comrades were present from all over Pakistan.Tomorrow, on the second day, more comrades are expected to arrive, especially worker comrades who will not be at work.

Over the weekend of 8-10th April, over 120 Socialist Appeal supporters and sellers met in London to discuss the turbulent economic and political situation developing in Britain - and internationally - and to take stock of the tasks facing Marxists in the period ahead. The mood at the conference, hosted by the UCLU and SOAS Marxist societies, was one of brimming optimism and enthusiasm about the prospects for building the forces of Marxism.

Around one hundred young people gathered last weekend in Biel for the Sixth Annual Marxist Autumn School. Compared to 60 people attending last year, this is a big step forward for der Funke/l’étincelle, the Swiss section of the IMT. Also present were international guests from five different countries. The event was bilingual in German and French, and took place over the course of the whole weekend. We were also proud to be able to present a newly printed republication of The Third Front, by Willi Münzenberg. The success of the school has shown once more the increasing interest in Marxist ideas in Switzerland.

Over the weekend of May 23 and 24, revolutionary Marxists from California, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Madison, Dallas, Kentucky, Ohio, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, and London gathered at the University of Pittsburgh for the 2015 WIL National School. Nearly 60 comrades attended this event, a clear indication of the enthusiasm for the ideas of Marxism amongst the comrades of the American section of the IMT. In the midst of dramatic movements around the world and in the USA itself, the success of this school reflects the need for a clear Marxist understanding of history and current events as the working class struggles to challenge the exploitation and oppression of the capitalist system.

Supporters of Fightback and La Riposte gathered over the May long weekend for the 15th annual congress of the Canadian section of the International Marxist Tendency. It was the first year that the duration was extended from two days to three. This was done to make more room for the high level, impassioned discussion and translation which was limited in the past. Revolutionaries from Quebec, British Columbia, the United States and as far away as Great Britain travelled to Toronto to participate in the weekend’s discussions highlighting our dedication to internationalism.

On Saturday 14th March, the 34th annual congress of The Struggle, the Pakistan section of the International Marxist tendency commenced its proceedings in Lahore.
