It's almost Pride Month in the United States - and it's really starting to show.

Along with numerous brands - including Smirnoff, Converse and Listerine - rolling out their rainbow-branded Pride merchandise, President Donald Trump himself has jumped in on the action, releasing an official 'LGBTQ for Trump' t-shirt.

Not that we'd recommend purchasing one, but for US residents the tee will set you back $30 with $7 postage.

However, LGBTIQ+ advocates aren't buying it.

Literally.

“The Trump Administration is trying to pull yet another con job on LGBTIQ+ Americans, but like their other desperate ploys, this idea will fall flat,” Zeke Stokes, Chief Programs Officer for GLAAD, said in response to the branding effort.

“Trump should hold the sales pitch and try issuing a statement honoring June as National Pride Month and the countless of LGBTIQ+ Americans who fought tooth and nail for the level of acceptance our nation sees today."

While Trump promised to stand up for LGBTIQ+ Americans during his Presidential campaign in 2016, his policies have been criticised as damaging - particularly for members of the trans community. He appointed one of the most anti-LGBTIQ+ judges America has ever seen, has given homeless shelters the power to turn away transgender people, and banned transgender soldiers from the US military.
