A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
Kendall Nicole Jenner (born November 3, 1995) is an American fashion model and television personality. Jenner first came to public attention for appearing in the E! reality television show Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Jenner is a part of an emerging fashion movement which has been dubbed "the Instagirl era" by Vogue magazine, or "Social Media Modeling" by Harper's Bazaar magazine. Jenner built her online fanbase by posting backstage selfies and career updates to her followers on social media, giving them a unique fly on the wall view of her career and public life.
After working in commercial print ad campaigns and photoshoots, Jenner had breakout seasons in 2014 and 2015, walking the runways for high fashion designers during the New York, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks. Jenner made her earnings debut at No. 16 on Forbes' 2015 list of top earning models, with an estimated annual income of US$4 million.
Jenner was born in Los Angeles, California, to retired Olympic decathlete champion Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner after a 2015 gender transition) and television personality Kris Jenner.

Pepsi released a controversial ad on Tuesday that was chock-full of BLM comparisons, protests, and Kendall Jenner. In the over-2-minute ad, Jenner goes from leaving her fashion shoot (and throwing off her blonde wig and lipstick to emphasize her departure) to diffusing a protest by handing a police officer a Pepsi. That last image of her standing before armed officers bore a striking resemblance to the iconic photograph of Ieshia Evans in Baton Rouge, Lousiana during a BLM protest. Pepsi is being accused of making light of political and social tensions to gain a profit. What do you guys think of the ad? Is it offering soda as an instrument of world peace? Pepsi pulled their ad Wednesday starring Kendall Jenner after it immediately sparked controversy. The company released this statement: "Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position." This isn't Pepsi's first ad controversy. In 2013 the company pulled an ad accused of racism and normalizing violence against women. -------------------------------------------------- Follow BI Video on Twitter: http://bit.ly/1oS68Zs Follow BI on Facebook: http://bit.ly/1W9Lk0n Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/ ---------------------------------...
