"These graduate students are acting out of their convictions because they want UNC Chapel Hill to be a welcoming place for people of color. Please respect their integrity by not punishing them for taking this moral stance against white supremacy."

On Friday 12/14, yet another white supremacist group is coming to Chapel Hill. They call themselves the UNC Board of Governors. Join us 7:40am at the Friday Center to keep up pressure as they vote on the BOT plan to build a $5 million shrine to white supremacy

Join us to celebrate UNC’s December graduates who have accomplished so much, despite a white supremacist administration that silences them, tokenizes them, and cares more for the safety of a Confederate statue than the safety of students 🖤

Dean Guskiewicz telling TAs and students of color they are hurting graduates by striking while literally permitting a violent white nationalist who has already made death threats against Black people and politicians to rally on campus on graduation day.

Let it be known the governing body, who our elects, DOES NOT & HAS NOT cared abt public input from NC voters This is NOT what democracy looks like. Shame on — proving yet again this state is structured to protect the lives & interests (& deep pockets) of few!

Finally, UNC is feeling the consequences of being an white supremacist institution. All semester, Nazis have been calling me an "Antifa leader." Who would've thought the most subversive thing I've done involves a stack of ungraded bluebooks? 2/2

UNC faculty has jumped fully on board with . They are leaking like crazy and revealing Dean KG's empty threats for what they are. Without support of dept chairs, he lacks power to punish TAs. Faculty is in revolt and his own advisory board is turning against him 1/2

I don’t think it’s appropriate to let 28 people decide how the flagship university in the system is run, especially if one of those members is calling graduate students terrorists. How can any BOG vote be considered legitimate with ppl like this on it?

UNC canceled final exams today due to snow; no word on whether campus will re-open tomorrow. It's almost as if there's a lot of flexibility built into the finals/grading process and failing to meet supposed "hard deadlines" has no impact on students.

People who say the action disrupts graduation or scholarships (both things we take serious) don’t seem to care that inaction disrupts the everyday life of Black and other POC people on campus.

For those who know their 1960s Chapel Hill civil rights movement history, with the current TA strike/grade withholding, we’ve now entered the block-traffic-exiting-a-basketball game phase. The theoretically sympathetic white liberals and moderates did not take it well.

and on the same day a fascist was convicted for murdering and injuring protestors protesting a confederate monument in cville, folt would not say the university has the duty to protect our lives above the law.
