Antifascists have noted previously that this same group known the 'National Party' hosted a closed meeting in a local hotel, in an attempt build in the northwest. That same meeting was then promoted as the launch on their new local cumann.

One local resident who received a flyer through the door said "I'm horrified and angered that any person from the Bogside would associate with such a hate group. We have neighbour's on our street, good people, who are from different parts of Europe and Africa. Students, teachers, shopkeepers and nurses. I'm embarrassed to think that they would feel not welcome in our town which they now call home. I'm angry!

"This is a racist group with a message of hate and intolerance similar to that of Oswald Mosley or neonazi organisations like Britain First and the EDL who targeted and intimidated Irish people. No Blacks, No Dogs, No Irish!"

"The people involved in doing this should now be named and shamed for doing this, its not on, their racist hate won't be tolerated!"

What is for sure the Bogside has a long history in opposing fascism and sectarianism, be that from the state or other elements set up to divide working class communities. We are a welcoming city which can be seen by the many different people and cultures who call this place their home. Such groups like the fascist 'National Party' are unacceptable here or in any other part of our city. Their hate must never be allowed the oxygen for them to grow.
